I’m an idiot, I thought to myself. A huge idiot who had no clue how to be around Jessica Flynn.
Closing the door, I stalked up behind her and spun her around. Leaning in for another, deeper kiss. We moaned into it at the same time. I wrapped my hand around her waist, pulling her flush against me.
“I could spend all day with you just like this,” I said, going in for more.
“Yep, definitely a horny teenager.” She broke the kiss. “But that won’t happen when you’ve got me all intrigued with this surprise of yours.”
“I could have another surprise for you.” Jessica’s eyes widened at the clear tent in my pants.
I wasn’t fully hard yet, but the longer she stood this close to me the more desperate I’d become for relief. Moving my hips again, I brushed up against her and nearly groaned from the friction.
“Grant,” she whispered, and I did it again. Jessica held onto me for a second then pulled back. “Okay, let’s get moving before we find ourselves not leaving at all.”
“Spoil sport.” I pouted, but smiled when she brushed a gentle peck against my cheek.
We headed out to my car, hers safely parked in my guest slot. My worries from earlier flashed through me, but I shook myself out of it. Jessica glanced at me over the roof of the car, and it was that look which had me focusing on the time I had with her.
The drive was fun, and I could admit that it was probably the most fun I’d ever had in a car. We had music playing, some that I liked, and other dreadfully awful ones Jessica put on though I didn't mind. She was singing along and looked beautiful with a carefree air around her. I’d never seen her that relaxed. We laughed a lot, mainly at me voicing my dislike of her choice of music.
Half an hour later, we pulled into a small town that wasn’t far from our own one. Finding an open parking spot along the main road, we quickly climbed out.
“Wow. This place is beautiful,” Jessica said in awe.
Meeting her on the sidewalk, I took her hand in mine and looked around at the storefront feeling reminiscent. “This place hasn’t changed.”
“It’s like we’re in a movie or something. Have you been here before?”
“Not that much. My grandparents used to live in this town and I only really visited them for one summer and a few holidays before my grandfather died.”
“I’m sorry,” Jessica said, leaning into my side as we started walking down the street.
“Thanks. Anyway, they used to own this ice-cream parlor just down the street until they couldn’t keep up with the demand anymore. I think the people who bought it still run it today. They’re really nice people. They let my grandparents bring me in and gave us an ice-cream cone for free. We used to come here all the time.”
“You must have a lot of wonderful memories with them.”
“We have a few, but like I said, I only spent a handful of moments with them.”
“It’s strange for me to think that you lived here before, and that we didn’t run into each other as kids.”
Smiling down at her, I said, “I think I would’ve remembered if we’d met as kids.”
Jessica playfully smacked my arm. “Pervert. Can you imagine if we had though? It would make everything between us…”
She trailed off, and again I wondered what exactly she was referring to when she spoke about us. “Weird?” I finished for her.
“In a sense, yes. I mean, knowing each other as kids, hooking up one night and then… all the rest. You know what I mean.”
Actually, I had no clue what she was talking about. She changed the subject by pointing out a small bookshop, saying that she would like to stop in there before we left.
I let the topic drop, but it stuck with me as we continued down the street. We finally reached the ice-cream parlor, and I put my thoughts out of my head and turned to Jess. “Surprise.”
“Is this the parlor?” she asked, looking amazed.
“Yep. Well, not the exact one but it’s the same.”
“Oh, my gosh! I’m so excited to try their flavors. Do you think they have those exotic and weird ones?”
“Let’s find out.” We walked inside, and Jessica was like a kid in a candy store.
