“Lives in a pineapple under the sea,” Gavin finished in a credible imitation of the sea captain.I can’t wait to tell her about Grandad and Samuel. For her to meet Mum and Nan.

Her magic shimmered all around him, awakening that deeper connection he hadn’t understood before he learned the truth about his nature. Now he realized they were wonderfully matched, perfectly in balance through the nature of their magics.Yet it wasn’t magic but yearning and haste that made their clothes disappear.

Gavin kissed her all over, delighting in her moans and shivers, then he feasted on her with lips and teeth and tongue, until she rocked against his face and came with a scream. That wasn’t enough, so he licked her through another orgasm. Finally, he allowed himself the pleasure of her slick, hot pussy. He pushed into her with exquisite slowness, marking the side of her neck with his mouth. Clem dug her hands into his back, urging him on, and he lost himself in her.

Afterward, they cuddled in the center of her bed. She ran her hands over him like she was doing an inspection. “You’re thinner than you were. Was it tough?”

“Yes. Meeting people you’ve harmed, even to help them…it’s onerous. And even though I apologized as well, it’s not enough. How could it be? I’m glad I did what I could, however. And I’m relieved it’s over.” Gavin paused, thinking. “I may still work with the council on an on-call basis now and then, helping witches who need healing for other reasons. If you like, you could…go with me?”

She kissed his chest then his shoulder, and her affection rolled over him in a delicious wave. “I wouldlovethat. I’ve wanted to get more involved in council work, and combining social service and my secret dream of seeing the world?” Her gaze turned dreamy, as if she was peering into a future that shone with magical promise.

“Then I’ll tell them to keep me on call,” Gavin said.

“For now, what will you do?” she asked.

“Make St. Claire my home base. Mum and Nan want to meet you. I saw them for the first time in years, and they’re talking about moving to the States. Would you hate that?”

“Meeting your family or having them around full time?” Clem seemed to be teasing with that sly little smile. Maybe.

“Both. Either.”

“No, I don’t mind. It sounds fantastic, honestly. Will I get to meet your grandad and his partner?”

“Assuredly. They live on a boat, but they made it to Michigan when I was in school there. I see no reason why they can’t travel a bit farther south. I’ve told everyone all about you, until they’re sick of hearing it.”

“That’s sweet,” Clem whispered. “Any other plans then?”

Gavin gathered his courage. “I just want to be yours. To live for you. I said it in the email, and my feelings haven’t changed. I love you endlessly. I thought the feeling might fade—out of sight, out of mind and all that.”

“It didn’t?”

He shook his head, gazing into her piquant face. “If anything, it got stronger as I mourned what I thought I’d lost forever.”

“Not lost,” she said softly. “My cousin said I was waiting. Not consciously, mind you. That’s not my style. But even someone as unromantic as I am knows.”

“Knows what?”

“When they meet the one. I love you, Gavin Rhys. Let’s date for a while and eventually have magical babies and grow old together.” That declaration was fabulous, but she made the moment her own with a saucy grin. “Or not. Whatever.”

It was a hilarious proposal, and so Clem. “Yes, please,” he whispered against her mouth. “I’ll give you some time to buy me a pretty ring.”

“I’ll save up,” she promised.

In time, he’d tell her all about his plans for their future, but for now, he had in mind another romp on the mattress. After that, they’d build a life together, loving, laughing, chasing white mice, and helping other witches. Hell, whatever she wanted, he’d ensure she had it.

From now until forever, this Fix-It witch filled his heart with love and his soul with magic.
