“Dare.”

Standing, she came around the table and settled in his lap. “I dare you to go across the hall and put that tool belt on and take your shirt off and then come back here. We can do a little role playing where you’re the sexy contractor and I’m the girl who needs help to hang stuff.” She bit her lip and gave him a very sensual pout.

“Are you really just looking for me to help you hang those pictures you bought? Because I can do that without taking my shirt off and…”

“Can you please just play along?” she said with a laugh. “Jeez! Here I was thinking I was being clever and…”

He silenced her with a kiss.

When he stood and put her on her feet, he said, “I’ll be right back and we’ll play whatever it is that you want.”

“Yay!” And she even jumped up and down a bit to show just how excited she was.

He kissed her one more time before walking across the hall to his apartment. It felt a little silly to be walking around shirtless with a tool belt on, but if that was a fantasy of hers, who was he to say it was wrong?

And if he was the one to fulfill said fantasy, well…that would only benefit him.

The things I do for this girl…

He messed up his hair and stuck a couple of random tools in the belt before knocking on her door five minutes later.

And then his jaw pretty much hit the floor.

The Arianna he had kissed a few minutes ago was gone and in her place was some sexy vixen who looked ready to eat him alive.

“Um…”

Her hair was tousled, her lips were extra glossy, and she had on some sort of silky, super short nightie that barely covered her. She was nibbling on her bottom lip and standing seductively in the doorway. “Hey,” she said with a little pant. “I’m so glad you’re here. I could really use your…services.”

Yeah, she was going to be the death of him.

“What can I do for you, ma’am?” he asked, getting into character.

“Whatever it is you want,” she whispered.

He’d hang whatever she wanted later on, but right now, the handyman was definitely going to have his way with her.

“Are we sure about this?”

“I mean…I have to,” Arianna said Sunday afternoon as she checked her reflection. “We just can’t show up together.”

The invitation to a Donovan Sunday dinner arrived via text to each of them individually, and Will was seriously contemplatingskipping it. Liam was out of town and everyone thought he was dating Ryleigh and…it was just all a little too much for him.

“Would you be offended if I didn’t go?”

Looking at him over her shoulder, she gave him a sad smile. “Well…I hate how this is interrupting our day together, but I totally get why you wouldn’t want to go.” Walking over to him, she kissed him. “So what are you going to do with yourself then?”

“Actually, I’ve got some plans I need to work on and it might be nice to get them done before Liam and I meet up in the morning.”

Kissing him again, she pulled back. “Then that’s what you should do.”

Before long, he was back in his apartment and Arianna was on her way to hang out with her family. Will texted his regrets to Mrs. Donovan, thanking her for the invite, and felt mildly guilty about it. He was sure that everyone would ask Ryleigh about their dates, and he hated how he was essentially leaving her to deal with it alone.

“This entire situation is beyond crazy,” he muttered as he got comfortable on his sofa with his laptop. He’d had some thoughts on the designs of the fishing cabins and was hoping to mock some designs up to present to their contractors later this week, and today was really the perfect day for it.

Plus…relaxing.

As much as he loved spending time with Arianna—particularly the nights—he could use a day of just doing nothing. He’d skipped his run this morning and didn’t even care.
