“And I’m pretty sure, he feels the same way,” Jersey said softly with a grin.

“Stop it. Don’t make more out of him being nice.”

“Honey, he is nice, but that man is a bit smitten with you. I knew it when I first saw you two at the hospital together months ago, and I can see it now.”

“Yeah, well if he was so interested, why did he not come to see us again?”

“Because of his job, Char. He couldn’t get involved with you then, but now she’s not his patient and enough time had passed. He’s interested, trust me.”

“Yeah, well, I’m not sure I am. I don’t really have time to get involved with anyone.”

“This is a perfect time. Marisol is doing so much better; you just got a new job at the hospital. You know that you are going to probably run into him around the hospital, right?”

Oh, the thought had crossed my mind about two dozen times. “Yeah, maybe.”

“Maybe, my ass.” She hissed playfully at me. “You two would be perfect for one another.”

“That man would be a catch,” Michelle added to the conversation, and I hadn’t realized that she was listening. “He’s one of the most eligible bachelors at the hospital.”

“Right?” Jersey said excitedly. “There are a ton of women there that would die to have that man look at them the way he does you.”

“Give me a break,” I laughed.

Michelle raised a brow as she leaned closer, “He has totally been checking you out.”

“He has not,” I said quickly.

“He totally has.” Jersey agreed.

I glanced over to the swings as Marisol giggled. All the kids were on the small jungle gym Jersey had now, and two of them were attempting to tackle Wes to the ground.

“See, even the kids are crazy about him. Could you imagine having kids with that man?” Jersey asked. “I mean he’s such a natural with kids. He was meant to have a bunch of them.”

I’d never thought of having more kids, not after what happened to me, but it was like a damn was unlocked and the maternal urge came out of nowhere. What would it be like to have a father around with more kids? Oh, who was I kidding? With my insecurities of relationships, there was no way it would work.

“He is a natural, but you know I don’t want any more kids,” I told her.

“And that’s going to stop you from enjoying some serious fun with that guy?” She asked with a brow lifted, and Michelle laughed.

“If I didn’t love my husband so much, I’d totally take that for a ride around the block,” Michelle whispered.

“Yeah, me too,” Jersey said as she checked him out from head to toe.

“Will you two stop undressing him with your eyes? Your husbands are right over there.”

“What?” Jersey said quickly, “Bruce knows I think Wes is hot. I told him that if anything ever happened to him, that I would be crying on Wes’s shoulder and hoping for a little attention.”

“You are incorrigible.” I shook my head.

She laughed, and got up to go get dessert ready, “Who wants cake?”

A few of the kids came running back, but Marisol and Wes remained at the swings. I got up, heading out to relieve him from his pushing duties.

“You can go eat dessert; I can take over from here,” I told him.

“No, I want Doctor Young to keep pushing me,” Marisol replied.

“Maybe he wants cake instead?” I asked her.
