Quinn’s warnings died in the air as I pushed out a pulsing silver light from my fingertips. Luka’s muscles jolted as it sank into his body, then the massive wolf shifted and rolled over. Gold eyes blinked up at me, and I sank down in relief at the awareness in them.
Luka turned, pinning Quinn with a dangerous look and growling.
“Hey, you were about to have a witch snack, and—”
“Quinn has important information about the covens. Fight later.”
Luka deflated, then sat back on his haunches with a huff. Quinn blinked, stunned by the sight of the massive wolf taking orders from me.
“That’s … interesting.”
I could practically feel his amazement, and I didn’t blame him. A tame wolf on the full moon wasn’t something anyone normally saw. Well, neither was a feral wolf...
I sat down heavily against Luka, running my hands through his fur. His snout nuzzled my ear, and I smiled.
Quinn ran his hands through his hair and addressed all of us.
“We’ve got problems.”
