Jules scooted forward as if he was about to get off the couch. “Let’s fuckin’ hit it. The first visitation is happenin’ right now.”

“Uh-uh.” Junior shook his head at Jules. “You keep your big sexy ass here. Finchie and his people already know your damn face.”

“I can blend in, goddammit.”

“Oh, sure. Let’s just have fuckin’ Bigfoot wanderin’ through the damn wake. Ain’t nobody gonna notice the giant in a suit.” Junior rolled his eyes as hard as humanly possible. “Sorry, big guy. You’re on the fuckin’ bench for this.”

“He’s right,” Erasmus agreed. “Best to take a cautious approach. If Finchie is there, I can remove him. Quietly.”

“Let’s go.” Junior tipped back his glass, finished off the booze, and headed to the kitchen to put the glass in the sink.

“We’ll be in touch,” Erasmus said, already opening the front door and waiting expectantly for Junior to join him.

“You boys have fun!” Junior waved to Brick and Jules as he strolled over to Erasmus. “Don’t do nothin’ I wouldn’t do.”

“Fuck you,” Jules replied sourly.

“Don’t be mad, big guy,” Junior teased. “I’ll bring you back a mint or somethin’. Funeral homes always got mints, right?”

Erasmus said nothing, and he headed outside with Junior right behind him.

The door slammed shut, and Jules growled in frustration.

Brick rubbed his back, soothing, “Hey, it’s okay. You can go criminaling another day.”

“This is bullshit. I’m fuckin’ fine.” Jules scowled. “I can’t believe they fuckin’ left me.”

“They’re obviously worried about you. I think it’s sweet.”

“I think it fuckin’ sucks. I came down here to take care of this.”

“Well, it’s important to take care of yourself too, you know. Take some time and relax. Don’t you ever have a me day?”

“The fuck is a me day?”

“It’s a day you take off and make it all about you. A me day. You take a long bath, maybe do a body scrub or a manicure or something?”

“God, you and my sister would fuckin’ love each other.” Jules chuckled. “She’s into all that fancy stuff.”

“That fancy stuff is self-care, thank you.” Brick grinned, hopping up from the couch. “Okay. Wait right there.”

“What the fuck are you doing?” Jules snorted.

“Just wait, Daddy,” Brick teased. “Your baby boy has got this all under control.”

Brick didn’t think it was a good idea to get Jules into a bath with fresh stitches, but he could still give him a very effective and relaxing me day without it. He went in his bag upstairs and pulled out moisturizers, hand cream, foot cream, and two forehead and eye masks. He came back with his arms full, grinning from ear to ear.

“Your me day has officially begun, sir,” Brick said. “You just sit right there and enjoy being spoiled.”

“The fuck is all that?” Jules laughed. “It’s, uh, very colorful.”

Brick set everything down on the coffee table, and then he kneeled in front of Jules. Being down in this position immediately reminded him of the first time they were together, and he tried to ignore the thrilling memory of Jules’s fat cock stretching out his mouth.

“This is a peppermint foot lotion,” Brick said as he opened up the little black tub. He scooped some into his hand to show Jules. “Perfect for your poor, tired feet after a long hard day of being a gangster.” He massaged the lotion over Jules’s feet, taking his time and making sure to rub it in between his toes.

“Fuck, that’s nice.” Jules sagged into the couch with a surprisingly loud groan.

“You like that, Daddy?” Brick smiled warmly.
