Brick peeked up at Jules, his heart jumping up to the back of his throat.

Their eyes met, and time stopped.

Brick’s pulse thundered in his ears, and his hands felt twitchy and light. He’d never felt this way about anyone before, not even close. He knew what he wanted to say, but he was afraid to. It was insane, after all, considering the short amount of time he and Jules had been together, and yet…

“How about forever?” Brick swallowed his nerves, and he smiled shyly. “You know, just for starters. I know. I know. It’s kind of a conservative estimate, but hey, I wouldn’t want you thinking I’m not interested.”

“I think that’s a hell of a good start.” Jules grinned, and his eyes were shining. He looked years younger, and he had never been more beautiful than right here in this moment, gazing at Brick as if he had hung all the stars in the sky. “You really mean it?”

“Yeah.” Brick smiled back shyly. “I told you before I catch feelings pretty fast. And hell, that’s over normal run-of-the-mill assholes.”

“Ah okay. Does that mean I’m a special asshole?”

“Totally.” Brick snorted out a laugh. “You’re a Daddy asshole, and you’re all mine.”

“Damn right I am. And you’re mine.”

The way Jules said it made it almost sound like a question, so Brick made sure to emphasize each word as he replied, “Yes. I am. I’m yours, Jules.”

That seemed to reassure Jules, and he was confident enough to tease, “Was it worth havin’ your flamingo run over?”

“It’s been worth having a thousand flamingos run over, plus every other insane fucking thing that’s happened. I got you, didn’t I?”

“Damn sure did.” Jules grinned dopily. “Hey, I learned how to say somethin’ sweet in Korean.”

“What? No more curse words?”

“Nah.” Jules paused. “I mean, later, sure, but not right now.” He cleared his throat and said carefully, “Nae sarang dangsineun nae haengbogui geunwonieyo.”

“That’s beautiful,” Brick gushed. “You learned that for me?”

“Yeah. It means, you’re my sunshine, my love.” Jules smirked. “Or I just asked you to eat my ball hair or somethin’.”

“No, that’s it. You’re right. I mean, technically you said I’m the source of your happiness,” Brick teased, “but close enough.”

“Fuckin’ Google lied to me.”

“Seriously, not bad though. And thank you. You’re my sunshine too.”

Jules kissed Brick, soft and slow, and their lips lingered in that tender press for several long moments. “Okay, now I gotta look up how to tell you that your ass is so tight it hurts my dick sometimes.”

“Oh, Christ.” Brick groaned and then started laughing.

“Work on that one later then?” Jules snickered.

“Much, much later.”

“Hey, I ain’t in no rush.” Jules softly kissed Brick’s lips. “We got plenty of time, right?”

“Yeah, we sure do.” Brick’s heart fluttered wildly because there was no way he could forget how much time they’d promised to one another—not a one-night stand or a quick fling, not a passing tryst that was going to burn fast and fade out, but forever.

Forever with a man who worshipped him and wanted nothing more than to spoil him rotten, a man that would grant his every wish and make every dream come true, even if all Brick wanted to do was watch movies and cook together, and to fall asleep with every night and wake up every morning holding each other close.

Yeah, forever sounded pretty damn good.

Epilogue

After cleaning up and changing the sheets, Brick and Jules returned to bed for a round of very well-earned cuddling. They’d opened the balcony doors for some fresh air, and the cool evening breeze was amazing. The lights were off except for a small lamp at the bedside, and the sound of the waves crashing just a few yards away was hypnotic.
