“Goody.”

“Shouldn’t be gone for more than a few hours. Just settlin’ shit up, all right?”

“And then you’re done?” Brick asked hopefully. “Vacation time?”

“You got it, baby boy.”

Brick grabbed the side of Jules’s face and pulled him in for a passionate kiss. They’d literally been holding each other all afternoon, but Brick would have sworn it had been days from the sheer intensity. Jules hugged him hard enough to make his back pop, and Brick laughed against Jules’s lips. “Mmm, you break it, you buy it, Daddy.”

“Don’t worry,” Jules teased. “I can afford it.” He gave Brick one last squeeze before letting go. “Try not to work too hard, all right? Have somethin’ good for dinner.”

“I will. Be safe doing whatever it is you’re doing, okay?”

“Will do, baby boy.” Jules winked, and then he headed to the door.

“You kids have fun!” Junior called from where he was lounging at the breakfast table. “Bring me back a souvenir.”

“Take care of my boy,” Jules said firmly. “Be back soon.”

“Like he was my fuckin’ own.” Junior saluted. “Don’t worry. I got Beefy covered.”

“Thanks.”

Erasmus appeared from out of the shadows, silently waving farewell as he followed Jules. They changed out their slippers for shoes, opened the door, shut it behind them, and then they were gone.

Brick sighed and tried to decide how he was going to pass the time now that Jules wasn’t here. Junior was sucked into something on his cell phone, maybe a game, and he didn’t seem like he was in a chatty mood for once. Brick needed something to do to occupy his mind, knowing full well he was going to worry every second that Jules was gone.

Brick had already more than made up for the work he’d missed last week, and he wanted to think up something fun to do with Jules to start off his vacation. After recalling Jules’s comment about his cheerleading uniform, Brick grinned to himself and hurried toward the stairs.

Junior quirked his brows as Brick went charging up to the steps. “Where the fuck are you off to in such a rush, huh? Gotta drop the fuckin’ penguins off on the porcelain iceberg?”

“What? No!” Brick scoffed. “Just grabbing something real fast.”

“Okay. Whatever.”

Brick’s closet was fairly organized, so it didn’t take him long to find his own uniform, including the borrowed skirt. He laid it out on the bed, and he smiled when he realized Jules had changed the sheets as promised. He checked the bathroom and also discovered that the toys were gone, most likely returned to their rightful place in the bedside drawer.

A quick peek confirmed it, and Brick’s heart fluttered away.

He wasn’t used to anyone taking care of him like this. They were such simple tasks, and yet they meant so much to him. It was only fair, Brick decided, to turn around and take equally good care of Jules.

And if that meant fucking him while wearing that old cheerleader skirt, then by God that’s exactly what he was going to do.

Smiling smugly at his awesome plan, Brick returned to the living room.

Junior had moved from the breakfast table to the couch, slouched down with his feet up on the coffee table. “You care if I put somethin’ on?”

“Knock yourself out.” Brick sat on the other end of the couch and handed Junior the remote. He honestly didn’t have anything better to do than hang out with Junior while he waited, and he could amuse himself by scrolling through his phone while Junior channel surfed.

“You know.” Junior side-eyed Brick. “You’re pretty all right.”

“Thanks?” Brick wasn’t sure how to take the unexpected compliment. He looked up from his phone. “Where did that come from?”

“I’m just sayin’, I ain’t never seen Jules this happy before. I respect the fuck outta that man, so if he likes you, you must be okay.”

Brick smiled. “Thank you, Junior. That’s actually really nice.”

“You must really like him too.”
