Tor slammed his foot on the gas. "Fenris. They finally found him."
"Fucking hell."
"I saw the glyphs on the rock face. The opening. I felt… I felt him. I can't explain it better than that, but I know. Iknow."
Ciara's hand rested on his shoulder. "Breathe, Tor. We've dealt with gods before. Let's find a hotel, and we'll summon the troops. We need a plan more than ever."
Some of Tor's tension leaked out of him, her touch warming and grounding him. It gave him enough focus to think and stay alert on the muddy road.
Lightning streaked, and thunder boomed overhead. It was as if the whole world knew that something had been disturbed that should never have been.
Tor could only hope they could stop Varg from waking the terrible fury he had felt coming from the cave. If Varg succeeded, they were all going to be fucked.

Ciara was doing her best to remain calm despite the waves of anxiety coming off Tor. They got back to town in record time and found a hotel that still had a room available.
"Have a shower and try and calm down. I'll start making some calls," Ciara said, gently pushing Tor towards the bathroom. His eyes were still shining with wolf, his canines a little bit too long. She kissed his dirty face. "Go on, you have blood in your beard. I'm not going anywhere."
Tor nodded and went into the bathroom without a word. Ciara blew out a long breath. She had never seen him so afraid. Whatever wolf sense he'd had that Fenris was in the caves was enough to spook him the hell out. It was radiating through the bond, and Ciara didn't know how to react to it.
They had two days to sort out Varg before they were both out for the full moon. She couldn't deny Tor his vengeance on Varg.
Ciara sent a message to Arne and Alruna and dropped another into the family chat before calling in the big gun.
"What's up, little cousin? Still getting some of that good wolf D?" Imogen answered.
"We found Varg…and Fenris. I don't suppose your better half is keen to test his mettle against another god?" Ciara asked hopefully. "I know he's only really concerned with Wales—"
"We are coming. I swear he's been pouting since he missed seeing the Asgardians last time. Where did you find that dirty mongrel?"
"A place called Plura Cave. You guys will probably get here faster than anyone else." Ciara explained the situation with the camp, Linnea, and the time frame for the full moon.
"We hit them at dawn," Arawan said, and Imogen agreed. "We can't leave it longer than that. If wolves draw their power from the full moon, it will be an ideal time for them to cast any magic to break Fenris's bonds."
"I agree. I just don't know if we can get the people we need in time. He has at least a hundred wolves there," Ciara replied.
"Don't worry about backup. You'll have it. Do you need me to bring you some weapons?" Imogen asked.
"Yes. This was only meant to be a scouting trip based on some random tip of Von's. I don't even have my proper hunting suit with me."
"Okay, we'll take care of it. Text me the coordinates of where we need to portal to. We get this fucker at dawn," Imogen replied before hanging up.
Some of the tightness in Ciara's chest eased up. Arawan was the biggest badass they knew, and if anyone could take on Fenris, it was him. They couldn't expect any divine assistance like last time. Ciara doubted Layla had Havi on speed dial. Ciara messaged everyone the coordinates and hoped for the best.
Fucking finally. Expect us at dawn,Lachlan texted her, and she sent him a thumbs up.
The shower was still running, so Ciara toed off her muddy boots and stepped into the bathroom. Tor was sitting on the shower floor, staring at the wall as hot water sluiced over him.
"We are on for dawn," Ciara said, taking her clothes off and getting into the shower with him. She tipped some shampoo into his hair and began to massage it in. Tor let out a low growl and leaned against her.
"Arawan has promised to come in case of Fenris being awoken. He sounded like he'd be disappointed if he didn't, to be honest. That's death gods for you. He suggested the dawn raid, something about wolves using moon magic."
Tor nodded. "It's the most powerful time. If they are going to break his bonds, that's when they will do it. I don't suppose you'd sit this fight out?"
Ciara laughed and kissed him on the forehead. "No. I'm going to be there. I have part of your strength, and I'm not letting you go into a fight without me beside you. I have my own score to settle with Varg. Where is this request coming from?"
"Today you said you would never consider mating me if I didn't leave. I left. Does that mean youareconsidering it?" he asked.
