"Yeah, probably. I'm still feeling stuck at home. How's it going with tall, dark and dangerous?"
"Arawan? Ah, good?"
Layla laughed. "You're so fucking obvious, Gen. You jumped his godly bones yet?"
"Yep. And I'm going to do it again."
"Fuck yeah, that's my sister." Layla yawned dramatically. "Okay, so what's the purpose of this call? You need love advice?"
"Ha! No. I just…"
I'm going into Faerie and Annwn, hunting a general who can't die, and I just wanted to say goodbye if I didn't get a chance to.Imogen cleared her throat.
"I just don't know how long I'll be away for. Time moves differently in Faerie, and I wanted to make sure I got to talk to you before I went."
"Don't talk like you're not coming back. You're the baddest bitch I know. If you're brave enough to fuck the god of the dead, you're brave enough and strong enough to survive whatever happens next," Layla replied, her tone so confident, Imogen got a lump in her throat.
"Thanks, Layla. I love you, you know that, right?"
"Jesus, you must be worried you're not coming back if you are saying that," Layla retorted. "I love you too, Gen. Go kick some ass and come home and tell me about it. Bring Arawan with you. I want to see Mom's face when you introduce him."
"Mom would probably try and kick him in the nuts for trapping me into a bargain," Imogen said with a fond smile. "Tell the others I love them too. And for God's sake, if something does happen to me, make sure you get rid of all my sex toys before anyone clears out my room."
"I must really love you to agree to that."
"You can take your pick of all my clothes and weapons as a thank you."
"Fuck, don't be morbid. You're coming home, sis, or I will get an ouija board to summon you and then abuse you."
"I gotta run. Goodbye, Lay Lay," Imogen said.
"I'll see you soon, shit head," Layla replied and hung up on her.
Imogen took a picture of her flipping her off and sent it to her before she grabbed her bag and got ready to follow the man she loved on a suicide mission.
"Piece of cake," Imogen said aloud and went to find Arawan.

It was decided that they would go through the Stonehenge gates to get into Faerie. Not only was the place powerful enough not to need any particular phases of the moon or day to use it, but it also led to the same place every time.
Imogen wondered how much power Bayn had pent up to be able to portal them about as much as he was. After kissing Freya goodbye, Bayn took Arawan and Imogen through the ice to Kian's castle. He had brought Elise, Kian, Killian, and Bron back earlier and didn't seem tired in the slightest.
And Arawan still has more magic than that. Imogen had no real concept of magic and refused to let Charlotte explain it to her. She was determined to treat her brothers as she treated her sisters and Lachie and not be impressed with them in the slightest. It was probably why she wasn't intimidated by the God of the dead currently holding her hand.
"Is Dad still here?" Imogen asked, looking towards Kian's castle and the fae busily working and training on its grounds.
"No, he's in Faerie with the healing mages. Did you want to see Charlotte?" Bayn replied.
Imogen shook her head. "No. She'll lecture me, and probably Arawan too, and I don't want to disturb her happy time with Reeve and a new library. I'll let Bron tell her what I've been up to."
"Great, throw me in the shit as usual," Bron said, riding up on a black stallion and leading another. "Kill's castle is a half a day's ride when we cross over into Faerie. You okay on a horse still?"
"Sure am. I have been riding all kinds of beasts lately," Imogen replied.
Arawan clarified, "She has been riding the Cwn Annwn."
"Ah huh. I don't need to know," Bron said with a shake of her head.
