"No, don't go…" she tried to tighten her grip on him.
"Shh, I'm not going anywhere." Arawan's lips pressed to her forehead. "Sleep."
A heavy weight descended over her, and Imogen slipped into a deep slumber. She didn't have a single dream for the rest of the night.

Imogen made a point of never being awkward after a hook-up. The God of the dead had gotten her off in the dark; what was there to be awkward about?
Did she make sure her braid was straight and had a bit of makeup on the following day? Yes, but that was only because she wanted to make the most of her post-orgasm glow. It had nothing to do with wanting to look put together for once even though she had been covered in some kind of mud or blood for most of the time she knew Arawan.
Duncan had delivered her breakfast at ten a.m. on the dot and told her that when she was done eating, Arawan and Aisling wanted to meet with her and the princes. She set off a warning group message to her brothers, ate quickly, and went to find Arawan. The sooner she saw him, the sooner any awkwardness would get out of the way.
Fuck, you had one thing to do. Don't fuck Arawan.
Well, she hadn't precisely fucked him. Not yet anyway.
Imogen tried to push all her horny thoughts down into her mind vault because they wouldn't help in the meeting she was about to walk into.
Arawan and Aisling spoke softly in a small dining room lit with bright winter light.
"Good morning, Imogen. How did you sleep?" he asked innocently, eyes glittering with feral amusement.
"Like the dead, my lord," she replied with a sweet smile.
Aisling looked alarmed. "It's nice to see you two getting along better," she said cautiously.
"It took a few days, but I finally found a way to speak Imogen's language," Arawan replied. He gestured to a chair beside him. "Sit down."
Imogen wanted to take a different chair, but that might stir him up even more, and she really didn't need him outing her to her brothers. She sat down and took out her phone.
"Let's hope everyone is ready for us," she said, trying to hide the hitch in her voice. Arawan's hand slipped over her knee, and she almost dropped her phone.
Seriously?
Imogen cleared her throat and dialed Kian. Thankfully, her brother answered straight away.
"Sister, it is good to see you. Are you settling in well? I hope Aisling hasn't told you too many stories," Kian said, giving the sorceress a warning smile.
"Like the time Bayn trapped a wild boar in your tower? No, not at all?" the sorceress replied, making Imogen laugh. She knew that Elise would love Aisling and all the dirt she could dish on Kian.
Underneath the table, Arawan's finger curled into the shredded knee of her jeans to stroke against her bare skin. This wasn't what she expected to be dealing with in a meeting. Fuck. She really should've sat somewhere else.
Bayn and Killian joined the call, and soon they were all catching up with Aisling, too, Arawan and Imogen momentarily forgotten.
"You are glowing with good health this morning, little hunter," he whispered to her.
"Are you serious? We are on a call with my brothers right now," she growled back. "It's inappropriate."
His lips twitched in amusement. He leaned closer and whispered, "No, what would be inappropriate is me telling you how I stroked my cock last night while I licked the taste of you off my fingers."
Imogen turned bright red for the first time in years. She would throw her phone at his head if he didn't shut the fuck up.
"You okay, Gen? You look like you're choking on something," Bayn said.
"Only on Arawan's bullshit," Imogen replied, sounding too stressed out. Arawan went to say something, but she pinched his leg hard. "Okay, let's get this meeting started, shall we?"
"You tracked down the creatures that got through the wards?" Kian asked. Imogen did what she usually did in meetings and let other people talk. Arawan and Aisling were better at explaining the technical aspects of what had happened to the wards anyway.
