Luna let out a sob and nodded. “Yes.” Luna raced across the common room and Greta flung herself into Luna’s arms.
“What in the hell is going on here?” King called.
“I think they’re trying to do that lift thing from Dirty Dancing.” Rigid crouched down and pretended to lift something up. “You either need to be in the water, or you really need to use your knees.”
“No,” Meg laughed. “They’re not doing the lift.”
“Greta is pregnant,” Cyn blurted out. “And Bear knows, but don’t have Greta make you a sandwich because it will probably be peanut butter and mayo.”
“Good god,” Rigid cringed. “Who in the hell would want to eat a monstrosity like that?”
Greta let go of Luna and raised her hand over head. “That would be my fat ass.”
“You got any news for us?” Meg asked Luna. “You two could be pregnant at the same time.”
Luna reared back and shook her head. “That would not be my fat ass. I am not looking to be a mama just yet. I want to enjoy Ransom for a while yet.”
Greta shook her finger at Luna. “I had told myself that, and I think I might have enjoy Bear a little too much since I’m pregnant now.”
Luna tipped her head to the side. “I’ll enjoy Ransom a little bit less than you and Bear did.”
“Sound advice,” Greta smiled.
Gambler walked into the common room with stunning woman on his arm. I looked closer at the woman, and realized she looked a hell of a lot like Greta.
“You told them?” the woman asked.
“Gwen,” Meg shouted. “You’re going to be a grandma!”
“Shh,” Gwen laughed. “Don’t say that word too loud. I don’t think I am mentally ready for that just yet.”
“Congrats, Gambler,” King called. He wrapped him in a manly half hug and patted each other on the back.
“Thanks, brother. Who would have thought, right?” Gamble chuckled.
“I’m slightly offended by that,” Greta called. “I feel like you’re saying that me having a baby is not expected.”
Gwen elbowed Gambler in the side. “Knock it off,” she warned. “You know how sensitive she is going to be now that she is pregnant.”
“Who’s pregnant?” Hero asked.
That was when everything just went crazy.
They all talked at once, and I felt a little out of place. It was amazing Greta was pregnant, but I felt like I was on the outside looking in. I didn’t really have a place in any of this.
I was here with Zig, but was I with Zig? I didn’t think so.
Yes, he had said that he didn’t want to get wrapped up in my drama with Kerry, but we were both here trying to figure that out.
What would happen when we found Kerry, and everything went back to normal? Would I see any of these people ever again?
More than likely not.
I moved from my chair to over by the bar.
“You want a drink, doll?”
I turned on my stool and smile at Snapper, the one who had commandeered Zig’s box of pastries. “Water?” I asked. “I have to drive home later.”
