“Yeah, but he’s job is going to pin Kerry’s disappearance on him.” I shook my head. I knew that Easy wasn’t the one to kidnap or kill Kerry. We just needed to figure out who was, and then everything would make sense.
“So what do we do now?” Hero asked.
I still believed that the Sons of Sin knew more than what they were telling me. Something wasn’t adding up with Ram and the rest of the club not caring about Brain, or even Kerry.
“What would you do if someone who was at the club wound up missing? Or one of you guys was found dead in your room?” I asked.
Zag rolled his eyes. “You already know the fucking answer to that, brother. When the club girls were winding up dead, we did everything we could to find out who was doing it and kept anyone who was remotely close to the club safe.”
“Yeah, which is what you would think any MC would do, right? Brotherhood and all that bullshit? Well, the Sons of Sin aren’t doing a damn thing, because I think they had something to do with Brain’s death, and even Kerry disappearing.”
“How? What evidence do you have to help prove that?” King asked.
I shook my head. “Nothing more than a gut feeling.”
King glanced at Rigid who shrugged. “That’s more than what we go off of sometimes.”
King grunted. “Fine. I’ll reach out to Ram and see if I can find anything out.”
“But why?” Reese interrupted. “I mean, I don’t really care about Brain because I didn’t know him, but why would they kidnap and kill Kerry?”
“We don’t know that she is dead,” I pointed out.
“My hope for Kerry being alive is dwindling every day,” Reese sighed. “I just want answers about what happened to her.”
Rigid leaned into Reese. “And we’ll get them for you, sweetheart. You’re about to see what a real MC looks like.”
“Okay,” King announced. “Everyone keep their eyes open, and your head out of your asses. Easy somehow is getting setup, and we need to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.”
“This is such bullshit,” Frost muttered.
That was the truth. I did not expect this news when Ransom had walked into church.
“I’m going to make contract with the Sons of Sin and see what I can find out.” King nodded to me. “You keep things normal over there. Don’t let them know anything. Especially about Easy being questioned about Kerry.”
“What should I do?” Reese asked.
“Stay safe and try not to get anymore wound up in this than you already are.” King stood. “No one else try to get arrested,” he growled. He strode out of the room and everyone got up and milled around.
“I’m so confused, Zig,” Reese whispered.
I reached out and squeezed her hand. I was, too, but I was going to help figure out what the hell was going on.
“Your mom is here,” dad called.
Jesus. I did not need to deal with family shit on top of what was happening with Easy right now. I wasn’t a member of the Devil’s Knights anymore, but I didn’t want them going down for something that they didn’t do.
“Are you okay with hanging out with Meg for a few minutes while I talk to me parents?”
Reese shrugged. “I guess so. Though, she seemed a little irritated we didn’t bring her anything from the bakery.”
I chuckled and shook my head. “Just give her that box from my bike, babe. I got it for everyone here anyway.”
“Really?”
I knew what I had been doing when I had asked Reese’s worker to fill a box full of pastries. “Did you think I was going to be able to eat everything?”
“So chocolate isn’t your favorite?” she asked.
