Page 75 of Vicious Games

I stay standing, ready to leave as soon as we're done with the logistics.

Asher sighs. "Right. It's pretty reversed. Zayn, I'm your dare giver and vice versa. And Blake, you're Rylee's and vice versa."

Blake nods once, looking at me. "I'm sure this will be good."

Zayn laughs, staring at Asher, then over to me. "Ooh, I'm going to get it, aren't I, Ash?"

Asher doesn't reply, shoving his phone away. "I'll let you know shortly when I think of yours, Zayn. I need to go check in with Jenny."

The way he says her name, it's like knives straight to my heart. He's deliberately lashing out, and while I think he's being dramatic, I'm powerless to stop it. This is the path he is choosing to take and it's better to let him push me away. When I leave, it will be less resistance for me to battle.

Asher leaves the basement while Zayn stands and walks over to me. He strokes a finger down my cheek.

I can't even look at him. My body is so confused by what happened yesterday. I hate him, yet I wanted him. Yes, I think past tense is correct.

I think.

Besides, he's the reason for all the hostility right now.

"Don't worry, sis. I'll get him good for you," he says with a wink.

I don't respond, listening to him cackle as he heads out of the basement.

I'm ready to finish this once and for all. I want answers before I skip town, and this is the only way I'll be able to do it. I turn to look at Blake, who is watching me with a blank expression.

"Jesus, would it kill you to fucking smile?"

Blake raises an eyebrow at me. "I smile when I want to. I don't find anything worth smiling at in this room at the moment."

"Fucking hilarious," I grumble. "I know your dare."

"Hit me with it," he replies with a sigh.

I sit down on the coffee table in front of him. "Your dare is to tell me the truth. I want to know why you guys left and why everyone is so mad at you."

Blake actually manages to half smile. "I underestimated you. But, it's a wasted dare. I promise you. It's not as exciting as you are hoping for."

"I don't care," I say, crossing my arms. "I'm done being left in the dark. I'm supposed to be family too."

He leans forward, resting his crossed arms over his knees. "Yeah? Just what type of family do you want to be?"

I narrow my eyes at him. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

Blake shrugs. "You and Ash can pretend all you want, but it's obvious there's something between you pair. It's fucked up, but hey. You do you."

"Fuck you," I snap, lost for words.

He laughs. "Close, but no. Your dare is to fuck Asher."

I gasp at him. "You're fucking out of your mind."

"Tell yourself whatever you want, Rylee. But, we both know you'll follow through on the dare. Because, it kills you to leave town without it. So, be grateful I'm giving you the opportunity under the disguise of the game."

"Why?" I croak out.

Blake stands, stepping past me. He walks to the basement door, stopping to look at me.

"Because. I want Asher to break, and you're the best way to do it."
