She shook her head. “Let’s get to the library. Where’s Shane?”

“He’s on the second floor.”

They rushed up the stairs. When they finally got to the library, she pulled the picture up on her phone. He did notice that they looked happy together.

She pointed behind them. “1911.”

He hadn’t seen that detail before, but suddenly the numbers went through his mind. “1911 …”

She indicated the other picture of him and his father and Hunter. “This is so random, but didn’t you tell me that gun was a 1911 Ruger? That your dad loved that gun?”

Trent peered down at the picture, then went and got the other picture. He set them side by side on the coffee table. “Oh my gosh. This is crazy.” He shook his head, unable to believe that this was finally happening.

She beamed up at him, and in that moment, he loved her so much.

On impulse, he hugged her tightly. “I love you, Liberty. Thank you.” When they broke apart, he swiped a quick kiss. “Let’s do this.”

She grinned. “Let’s do this.”
