“Rae?” he asks.

“I had a dream about you too,” I choke out.

Am I really going here? Am I going to tell him this?

“You did?” he asks with surprise.

I nod, swallowing hard. “Remember that morning over the summer when I was…” I pause and shake my head, not wanting to go tothatplace right now. “I texted you early and asked you to come over?”

He’s staring at me intently. “I remember.”

“I had a dream about you that night.”

His hand slides over the top of mine. “What happened in the dream?”

“It was like after the baseball game, when you kissed me on the hood of your truck. Only we were the only ones there. And we kept kissing.”

“Sounds like a good dream,” he says in a flirtatious voice.

“It got better,” I say sheepishly.

His eyes go wide and he swallows hard. “Better how?” he barely gets out.

“We… might’ve had… sex on the hood of the truck.”

I bite my lip and look down.

My face is bright red. I can’t bring myself to look at him. Then I feel his finger under my chin, lifting it to see his face.

“I’m jealous of dream me,” he says in a low, sexy voice.

I can’t breathe for a second. All I can hear is the sound of my heartbeat pounding over and over.

He leans closer to me.

I have to tell him.

“Aaron, what got to me about that dream—part of the reason I wanted you to come over that morning—is that in the dream, I was in love with you,” I say, suddenly breathing heavy as he moves closer to me.

He takes a breath and says, “I was in love with you in mine, too.”

I use every bit of strength I can muster to ask, “And now?”

He inhales sharply, then launches himself at me, his lips meeting mine with force. His tongue slides into my mouth.

As my head falls into the cold snow, his warm body surrounds mine, and for a second, I can’t react.

But his tongue.

I need it.

I let mine fall in sync with his. Sucking at it, twisting around with it, exploring his mouth.

My hands slide up into his hair as his wrap around my back, one sliding up to support my head. He kisses me demandingly, like he can’t stand to live another second without me.

Without realizing what I’m doing, I moan against his mouth.

“Rae,” he groans, his lips lightly pulling away from mine. Hearing him say my name like that sends a chill across my body.
