Keeping my eyes on them, I wait until they are all turned away before I reach out and hit Mendez hard enough that he falls. Grabbing him, I pull him inside, shutting the balcony doors and pulling the shades closed.
“What the hell? Who the fuck are you?” He groans, holding his now bleeding head.
“I have a message for you. From Raven.”
At the mention of her name, his lip curls up.
“And what message might that be? Where is that fucking bitch anyway?”
Not saying a word to him, I grab my knife from my side, slamming it down into his heart as I cover his screaming mouth with my other hand.
He tries to fight. His arms come up to hit me in the face but he’s too weak.
Leaning down to his ear, I whisper, “Have fun in hell.”
Twisting the knife quickly, he gives out one last grunt before the light fades from his eyes.
Wiping the blood from my weapon, I stand up and make my way back to the door. Baratta; having already taken the girl back out the way that we came.
These fuckers always think they are so smart. Untouchable. They’ve just never come face to face with me.
I’m the real monster in the shadows. The one you never see coming.
Chapter 11
Raven
Gio and I have been staying in one of the guest cabins since they all got back from Florida a little more than a month ago.
I’ve tried to broach the subject as to what’s next for us. Our relationship. If you can even call it that. I’m not exactly sure what we have.
He’s had to take several trips that were business related that he refused to tell me anything about. Some more of that top secret shit he keeps swearing he can’t tell me about. So he’s not been here in White Summer for more than a few days.
This trip he’s been gone for a week already. At least he did find a moment of his time to text me late last night to let me know he’d be a few more days.
I quickly texted him back but I’ve still not received anything else from him which is pissing me off.
