Chapter 8

Fiona

I decided to walk to Bella’s; it’s only a couple blocks away. Knowing my brother and his club, they’ll have the few roads around the coffee shop blocked off. Nobody in this town would dare piss off a member of Wolfsbane Ridge. So I feel safe. Besides, I have my gun locked and loaded.

The first person I see is Butcher, the Road Captain for the MC. He is sitting on a bench at the bus stop. He isn’t even trying to blend in; I can’t help but laugh at him. Even in grade school he stood out. Then I see Bear across the street. There seems to be either a club member or a prospect on every corner of every intersection.

When I walk in the door, I am greeted by Miranda, Bella and Mina. They are sitting at the table already.

“Is Hayden coming?” I ask

“No, she wants to spend some time with her daughter.”

I look at the three women sitting at the table with me. To think that just a few months ago I didn’t know them. Pulling the frog prank created a bond between us. I can still hear that guy screaming, when I close my eyes. It was the most fun I've had since leaving White Summer five years ago.

“Please invite Lily next time.” Bella begs me. She has been kicking my ass in self defense classes. I like her.

“I don’t know about that, Bells, she isn’t known by the club. The guys might flip out if we invite outsiders. She is one of my best friends, but I don’t want her affected by the shit we deal with.”

After that the conversation quickly turned to baby talk. Mina had her baby shower a few weeks ago, now she wants to plan one for Miranda. The ideas for games are getting pretty wild.

Bella suggested a Lego walk. She said we would fill a room with Lego’s and make the guys walk across them. Whichever one made it across would get a ‘Daddy award’. We all picture our guys getting taken out by Lego’s.

Mina wanted the dirty diaper game. You melt different candy bars into a diaper. The contestant has to lick the ‘poop’ and guess what candy bar it is. Miranda wants a baby food taste test.

We are all laughing hysterically, when Mina grabs her side.

“Umm ladies, I gotta pee.” As she stands up to leave the table, her pants get soaked.

“No, you already did.” I point out. Everyone but Bella starts laughing again.

“No, her water broke.” You could have heard a pin drop When Bella said that.

The silence was broken by Mina, “Well I was thinking about pouring a glass of water on the floor to prank you all, but I decided not to. I didn’t want to leave a mess for Sunshine.”

Just then Blood walked in. something in our faces must have alerted him there was an issue because he immediately went on guard.

“What’s going on? I expected to walk into a hen party, not a funeral.” He asks looking to Mina as if she is our spokesperson

“I’m having a baby.”

“Yes, I know Mina; you need to get some sleep.”

“No, Blood. I am having a baby now.”

I watch as the blood drains from his face. I start laughing; now everyone is looking at me.
