Chapter 6

“Do you want me to bring your stuff over or do you want to go get it?” Niall asked when he passed me in the living room.

“Do you mean do I want you to come with me or not?”

He shook his head. “No, I can either summon your items or you can walk to your old room and pack it and bring it over.”

I tilted my head. “You can snap your fingers and make it appear, or I can haul it up and down the stairs?”

His lips quirked. “There are no snapping fingers, but yes, that’s the idea.”

“I’ll go with that option.” I didn’t want to run into anyone, and having it all just appear sounded wonderful.

“Really?” His brows rose a fraction. I surprised him?

“Yes?” Did he really think I’d prefer to do it all manually?

“You tend to avoid magic, so I assumed you were going to make this harder on us than necessary.”

He had a point, but I didn’t want to admit that. “It makes more sense. This time.”

Without another word, he headed into my room and stood in front of my closet. He closed his eyes and mumbled something under his breath. All my belongings, even the items from my desk and drawers appeared in the closet and around my room as if they all knew exactly where they belonged.

“Wow, thanks!” That was a million times easier than actually moving.

“I don’t think it worked.” He frowned at the open closet.

“Yes, it did.”

“Look at everything I missed.” He waved his hand out to the empty shelves and railings.

“This is all I have,” I explained and started to close the doors.

He pushed them open. “This?”

Okay, my closet wasn’t overfilled like Natasha’s or even Hannah’s, but I had pretty much everything I needed. Well, I did need a better coat for the winter. And a raincoat. And boots. And some warmer clothes.

I just needed to have my parents send my stuff. Or call Aunt Masie.

“Guys!” Niall yelled louder than I’d ever heard him use his voice.

The other three came sprinting in like he’d called fire.

“What?” Theo looked me over before checking the room.

“This is everything she has.” Niall pointed to the closet.

“Oh, for shit’s sake. It’s fine. I have most of what I need.” I crossed my arms and stood in front of my meager possessions.

“You don’t even have a proper coat,” Sai frowned.

“I didn’t exactly have time to pack for a full school year before I came. My parents or aunt can send me more of my things.”

“She borrowed Natasha’s raincoat, umbrella, and boots the day it rained a lot,” Niall remarked, adding fuel to the fire.

“I have those things at home.”

“I’ll get those,” Theo raised his hand, then ran out.
