“Have a good day, sir,” she says. “Next please!”

My smile is wide as I pull into Justine’s driveway. Leaving my purchases in the truck, I shut it off, get out and head to the porch. Before I can knock, the door is opened by Sibley who grins and says, “She’s getting ready, Sebastian. Come on in.”

“So, what are your intentions toward my sister?” Billie asks.

I raise my eyebrow and retort, “Shouldn’t that be Rayne’s question?”

She says, “Yeah, but he’s not here so I’ve taken it upon myself to do the asking.”

“I plan to marry her, have a houseful of kids, and die old, bald and happy,” I reply, smirking at the way her jaw drops. I know she thinks I’m kidding, but I’m serious. This date is the first day of the rest of my life.

“Hmm, you sound serious but there’s no way you’ll do that,” Billie states.

“Do what?” Justine asks, walking into the living room. I quirk an eyebrow at Billie, wondering if she’s going to toss herself under the proverbial bus about what we were discussing.

“Oh, nothing. You two run along now and have fun,” Billie says, glaring at me.

I stand and hold my hand out for Justine to take. As our fingers touch, I feel the electricity zing through me. Judging by the expression on Jussie’s face, I suspect she had the same thing happen. I lace our fingers together and wink at her when she glances up. “You ready?” I ask. She nods, grabbing her purse and slipping it over her shoulder. We leave and I walk her to the passenger side then help her into her seat. Leaning in, I quickly buckle her in, holding my grin back at her indrawn breath.

Once I’m assured she’s secure, I close the door then head to the driver’s side. “That’s yours,” I tell her, pointing at the coffee as I put on my seatbelt.

She picks it up and takes a sip, a soft moan escaping her lips at the taste. The sound goes straight to my dick, causing me to realize that today is going to be a bit challenging. “So good,” she says, glancing at me. “Thank you for grabbing it.”

“Got donuts and pastries in the bag if you’re hungry,” I reply.

“You’re spoiling me,” she murmurs, reaching in and pulling out an apple fritter.

“You haven’t seen anything yet,” I say, winking at her.

“So where are these houses?” she asks, changing the subject.

“All are outside of town.”

“They’re not in subdivisions, are they?” I glance at her to see her nose delightfully wrinkled at the thought of living so close to others and chuckle.

“No, sweet girl. I find I want a bit more space and being confined to a subdivision that has a homeowner’s association dictating what I can and can’t do isn’t something I’m interested in,” I admit. She nods and settles in for the ride.

Justine

To sayI was shocked to get a call first thing this morning from Sebastian would be an understatement. When he said he was on his way, I shrieked like a banshee and went flying through the house to my room to take the fastest shower known to mankind then get myself presentable, both of my sisters laughing their asses off at me. They’ve known, of course, how I feel about Sebastian; there’s a lot of downtime between cities and he’s been the starring topic many times. I heard what Billie asked him as I was coming back into the living room about his proposed intentions, my heart skipping a beat when he stated them. I know she thinks he’s kidding, but I saw the seriousness on his face.

“That last one wasn’t so bad, was it?” I ask as I watch him cross another listing off.

His eyebrow raises as he stares at me. “You’re kidding, right? Circa 1920 bathrooms with pink, black and white tiles? The amount of money it would take to get it back to a livable condition is laughable, Jussie.”

I burst into laughter and lightly shove his arm because the latest housewashorrific for lack of a better word. He must realize I was kidding because he grins at me. “About the only thing I liked was the overall layout.” Which is the truth; it was an older sprawling farmhouse. Granted I wanted one floor, but I could see the appeal of fixing it up because it would eventually be stunning.

“That’s probably why the price is what it is,” he states. “Okay, let’s grab some lunch before we check out these other ones.”

“You’re not still on a sugar high?” I ask, looking at the empty bag from the coffee shop. We ate every single one of the goodies he picked up plus two bottles of water apiece that he stopped and bought when we finished our coffee.

“It’s wearing off, see?” he teases, holding out his hand which he proceeds to shake.

“I’m having fun, Sebastian,” I admit. Our conversation has been easy. Even the hard topics both of us have brought up have been discussed like two adults, something I’ve never been used to in either of the ‘relationships’ I’ve been in. I know, for example, that he believes in monogamy just like I do. My parents are still together and as much in love now as it appears they were on their wedding day, based on the pictures all over their house.

“Me too, Jussie,” he replies, reaching over and enfolding my hand in his. When he laces our fingers together, I feel that little zing again and realize that the universe is showing me I’ve finally met my one. I settle into the seat while holding his hand, unable to contain the smile that spreads across my face.
