I really enjoyed my time there. Corbin was very nice and stuck by my side. We really hit it off. Talking and getting to know each other came easily as we walked through the rest of the gym. I'm excited to take the bootcamp class he swears will kick my ass.
It felt weird to accept his offer of a ride so quickly, but there’s something about him that put my soul at ease. From what I learned about him and his friends, I can tell he is a good guy. Lucian seems nice too. Hopefully, having met them will ease the stress of starting school tomorrow.
Ugh, school starts tomorrow.
Dread courses through me. My head is saying don’t look at him, it will only hurt more. But my heart needs to see his face. I need to know if it was all a lie. If we were just a summer hook up that meant nothing to him. I am so scared to face tomorrow. I need Ash to give me a pep talk or some shit. I have to be strong walking in there, tohisterritory. And don’t even get me started on how I feel about possibly seeing that bitch who helped him shatter me.
I know Grey and I are long overdue for a conversation, but I don’t think my heart can take it right now. It hasn’t even been two months since I lost my Papa. I’m too sensitive to deal with hearing Greyson explain why he ran into the arms—and mouth—of another girl just a few hours after seeing Jacob and I talking. What if he confirms everything I fear, and our entire relationship meant nothing to him? Everything just hurts. I only want it to stop.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it's all a big misunderstanding… nope, definitely not. There is no mistaking Amber's lips around his cock and the sound of his moans. Those moans I know so well I hear them in my sleep. I didnotmake that shit up. I mean how the hell can someonemisunderstandseeing a full-on blow job? Ugh!
Thank God for Corbin and Lucian. At least now I’ll know two friendly faces in the hallways tomorrow.
Chapter Thirteen
Tuggingonmyshirtone last time, I walk up the steps to Richmond Hills High. Feels real weird walking onto his turf, but this was not my doing. Ashley is always talking about fate and how things have a funny way of working themselves out. I sure hope she's right because right now I feel like I'm going to throw up.Cut that shit out, you can do this.
The main office is right off the school entrance and as soon as I walk inside, there’s a cute, petite, dark-haired girl with glasses waiting.
She turns her attention to me. “Hi, I'm Remi! You must be Charlotte Richmond.”
Catching me a little off guard, I stumble on my words. “Oh—Uhm, Hi. Yes, I'm Lottie.”
“Ooh, I love the name Lottie. Super cute. Love that top too. I wish I had tits like that—” She stops the stream of words coming out by slamming her hand over her mouth. I giggle and smile. I like her.
Her comment makes me thankful for Ashley. We were up late last night FaceTiming. She gave me the pep talk I needed to see Grey again without losing it in front of a bunch of strangers. And she helped me decide on the perfect outfit for my first day of school. I didn’t want to look like I was trying too hard, but I wanted to feel confident. My knotted button up with a lacy bralette and ass hugging jeans has me feeling just that.
“Shit, I'm sorry. Everyone tells me I talk too much and clearly, I don’t have much of a filter,” she says apologetically.
“No, it's totally fine. Actually, you remind me of my bestie in New York. It's quite comforting.”
“Oh, thank fuck,” she says, cringing slightly when she realizes she dropped an f-bomb in the middle of the principal’s office.
“Okay, here's your schedule and locker info. I'm your student guide since I'm in a few of your classes. I'm going to show you around for the next two days so you can get familiar with this place. Now let's get the hell out of here before they fire me on my first day.” We both laugh and she hooks her arm in mine as we walk out together. I can't help but smile.Maybe Richmond Hills won't be so bad after all.
The first few periods go by painlessly with Remi by my side. We had two classes together and now comes the dreaded lunchtime, where every senior in the entire school sits together and eats in one large room. Thankfully, Corbin is the first person I see when we walk in with our food. He's sitting at a table with a curly-haired girl, along with Lucian and a couple of others. He nods my way as his eyes take their time roaming over my body. I wave back, trying to hide the slight blush creeping up my cheeks. Remi sighs next to me, “Man, I would give anything to have someone look at me the way he just looked at you.” She pushes her glasses up her nose.
“I met Corbin yesterday at Lights Out. We worked out for a few hours. I’m thinking of joining,” I tell her, trying to avoid the fact that Corbin was blatantly checking me out.
“Oh no, not Snow, but God, yes, he’s hella-hot. No, I mean Greyson Rexwood. He’s basically eating you alive but also looks sort of angry. Like a sexy wolf on the prowl type of vibe,” she says from beside me. I don’t respond right away, too stunned by the sight of him sitting there with the bitch from the video. My heart twinges. I was right, I am so not ready for this.
“Right girl, I’d be stunned to silence too. Like he’s super-hot. With his muscular football body and that whole bad boy, motorcycle club style,” she says while nudging my arm a bit.
“Oh, yeah he’s definitely handsome.” Trying my best to sound indifferent while I shake this feeling of uneasiness away.I can do this.
“Where do you normally sit?” I question, silently begging to remove myself from the center of the entire cafeteria. I can feel people's eyes on us.Geez, what is with these people down here? Why do they stare so much?
“Over there, my friends are at the other end of Snow’s table.” She juts her chin in that direction. I take her lead and head that way. Of course, Corbin’s table is the one directly next to Greyson’s.
I'm greeted with Corbin’s signature megawatt smile. He slides over, making room for me to sit, then introduces me to the curly-haired girl. I try to ignore the daggers I feel coming from Greyson’s direction.
“Frankie, this is Lottie. She just moved here from New York.”
“Hey girl, nice to meet you,” she says to me with a beautiful smile. I also get a warm hello from Lucian who is sitting beside her.
Frankie? Is this Greyson’s Frankie?
Looking up to him for confirmation, his eyes lock with mine.Guess he was staring.
