Page 17 of Make You Miss Me

“I’ll have another beer.” Looking over at Ashley, I give her a nod for her to order.

“I’ll have a water, please. Oh, and a double cheeseburger plus a large cheese fry… hmm, and also a black and white milkshake with whipped cream.”

The look on Frans’s face is comical considering this bombshell next to me just ordered enough food for a man my size.

“All right, I’ll be back soon,” Fran says as she walks away.

Ashley turns her body so it’s facing mine in the booth. I take in the sight of her.

Her face is washed clean from the makeup she wears to work, although her lips are swollen from the fuck-hot kiss we shared just moments ago. Her blonde hair is piled into a bun on top of her head and she’s in a pair of ripped jeans and an oversized sweatshirt. I don’t think she has ever looked more gorgeous than she does at this very moment.

She catches me staring and smiles.Fuck, I’m in trouble.

“So, was this your plan all along? Surprise me in New York.”

I can’t tell her it’s because I’m basically obsessed with her and want to make sure she isn’t going to back out of coming to Nori again in a couple of weeks.

“Not exactly...” I stop mid-sentence when I see Fran approaching with our drinks. I don’t think Fran’s ears could handle what I really had planned for Ashley this weekend.

“Here you go sweethearts, food will be out shortly.” We thank her as she walks away.

Staring at Ashley as she puts her lips to her straw has me wanting to see her perfectly plump lips wrapped around my cock. In fact, I’m fucking aching to have her again.

“So…” I start, hoping like hell she will give me some insight as to why the fuck she left me the way she did.

“Sooo…” she replies with a smile.

I don’t like games, and I certainly don’t like the runaround. Is she really not going to explain what the fuck happened that night?

I guess if she wants to ignore it, then we will… I will just make sure to tie her up this time so she can’t run out after our first round.

“I got a hotel room for the weekend… I’m in New York till Monday morning. I was hoping you’d spend some time with me.”

I see the hesitation on her face before she even opens her mouth to speak.

“I don’t know Trent… I’m not sure that’s the best idea” She almost looks sad when she says it.

I raise a brow and just look at her, hoping she’ll elaborate.

She lets out a deep sigh. “I would love nothing more than to be locked up in a hotel room with you all weekend.”

I feel the but coming…

“But I just don’t think it’s a good idea. I already enjoy my time with you too much and I know I can’t have more.” She looks down at her intertwined fingers. “I have future family obligations and they leave me no room to have a life outside of it. If we continue this, it will only be that much harder when that time comes.”

I nod in response, unable to find the right words.

Is that why she ran out? I won’t push her for those answers, at least not just yet. I can tell this upsets her. What the hell could it be?

Thankfully, Fran arrives with the food to help ease the awkwardness at the table.

We stay quiet for a few moments while she snacks on the fries and takes some big sips from her milkshake.

She moans, “Holy shit, this has got to be the best tasting milkshake.”

“Really? I highly doubt that. What the hell is a black and white shake, anyway?”

“Shut up! You’ve never heard of a black and white. It’s literally the best thing ever… It’s vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup.”
