Logan: Hey, how’s one of my favorite women doing
Logan lost his woman a few months back in a car accident, and has been busy taking care of their three children.
It’s completely understandable that he has been lost in his own grief, especially while he’s been healing.
I was days away from going to see him if he didn’t answer his phone. I never knew he was coming down though. It’s definitely a good surprise.
Holly: Great, ready to see this baby tomorrow at my appointment. How are the kids?
Logan: Okay. We are in town, and they are visiting Kyla right now. She has forced me out of the house and told me to get a life for a few hours.
He adds with an eye roll emoji.
I laugh because that sounds just like Kyla.
Holly: Alright, want to go get some lunch? I’m starving.
Logan: That sounds great, I’ll come pick you up.
I text him my address so that he knows where to pick me up. I let him know that I will meet him out front.
I knew that I had time for a good, long hang out. Braxton was out for a run. Dylan I had heard in the shower. I knew he was getting ready for work. Of course, Easton was sleeping since he never likes to wake up early. He only wakes up when we have a big breakfast, and he always goes back to bed afterwards.
I grab my clothes and change into them before writing a quick note to tell my guys where I’m going, and heading out the door.
Logan is already leaning against his car in the front when I arrive, and I practically jump into his arms.
“I missed you so much!” I say with a sniffle.
“I missed you too. Now, let’s go get you fed, and you can tell me all about these men of yours,” he says, rubbing my back.
I nod my head, and he opens the door for me to climb in.
We take off to my favorite Italian restaurant and chat the whole way about his kids and how excited I am to see them tomorrow.
When we get there, I order two dishes since I couldn’t decide, and Logan does the same.
“Tell me about your men,” he says while we wait for the food.
“They have been really great. Once they knew I was telling the truth, that is,” I mumble the last part, but he hears me and raises an eyebrow at me.
“Well, they had this ex-girlfriend, Helen, who lied about her pregnancy only weeks before I told them about me. It was a big thing, but they seem to have moved on from that. Everything has been perfect since,” I tell him with a smile.
“As long as they are treating you right,” he says with a pointed look.
I tell him everything I can think of about my men, but he still seems wary of them. He tells me that he will give them a chance as long as they are good to me.
I really needed this visit to talk to my friend.
I could tell that Logan needed it too. He can’t hide the bags under his eyes and exhaustion in his face.
I make plans with him to see the kids later after we have eaten. We stay out a bit longer shopping for the kids until we decide he has been gone long enough that Kyla will let him back into her house.
When he drops me off, I feel peaceful and have a smile on my face.
I never realised what would be waiting for me when I got back.
