“They really aren’t giving me any signs that I should give them a chance,” I murmur.

“It will come in time. They were with Helen for far too long. She is pretty much the definition of evil. I don’t know how they didn’t leave her sooner. It will take time to mend those old wounds,” he says kneeling in front of me.

“Well, they have six months before the babies are here and we will be parents,” I say, falling back against the chair.

“Wait, twins. You have two babies inside of you right now?” Kyla says, breaking out into a smile.

I nod my head. “Yeah, it’s twins. I heard their heartbeats and everything,” I say, finally smiling at the idea.

“This means we need to celebrate,” Kyla says before calling for her other men. The next thing I know, they are having a special supper just for me and the babies.

That night, I stay at their house, but sleep in a room far away from their bedroom, since I don’t want to hear what my best friend gets up to. I’m not ready to be alone though, so I’m glad they let me stay.

I toss and turn all night, thinking about what our future might look like.

Do they know that the babies have to be one of theirs? I haven’t slept with anyone since they came into my life.

It would break me if I had to prove to them that they are the fathers.

Helen has already ruined so much for us.

If I never see that bitch again, it will be too soon.

Chapter Seven

Dylan

Too many days pass as we think about Holly carrying our baby. I regret the way we treated her, but I was acting on past hurt and betrayal. It definitely wasn’t fair to her.

I don’t know where to begin to fix it.

I should have seen the signs that she was different. She didn’t seek us out to tell us. We saw her on chance, and she was reluctant to say anything because she knew about Helen.

Fuck, why didn’t we react differently? We just get one step forward, and now we have to take ten steps back.

The least we can do is make sure that she can see the best doctor from here on out. She won’t have to worry about cost.

The longer I think about it, the more the idea appeals to me of Holly carrying our child. It doesn’t matter which one of us is biologically the father. I will love them like my own. We have always been a team. That won’t change now.

First thing we will need to deal with is Holly working too much. She should enjoy this time. Not work herself to a point where she can barely function.

Hopefully, Easton and Braxton will like my idea when I tell it to them. I’m just waiting for them to get home from the bar.

I think it will make things easier for all of us.

When they get home later, I tell them my plan. Hopefully, it’s something that Holly will go for. Even if we are assholes, we are the fathers of her two babies.

Even if we hope to be more than that one day, we have to take it one step at a time.

I also tell them about my plan that I think would work for all of us to get to know Holly better; at least without all the curious eyes of the employees.

We need to build our relationship from somewhere.

“Do you really think she would go for moving in with us?” Easton asks, taking a bite of his food.

“I don’t see why not. She said that she wanted to save money for the baby, and that’s why she was working so much,” I say with a shrug.

Braxton doesn’t say anything for a moment. “She seems pretty pissed at us. I don’t think this is going to be as easy as you guys think it will be.”
