“Yes, of course I will,” I say with a sob as they pull me into their arms.

One of them slides a ring on my finger as cheers ring out.

The rest of the night, everyone celebrates the new engagement. I barely take my eyes off my ring. Easton catches me multiple times and grins at me.

I was a nervous wreck the whole day. I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be. It was incredibly risky asking Holly in front of everyone, but she has put her heart on the line for us multiple times; it was our turn to put ours on the line for her.

I was also worried it was going to be too soon, but I also didn’t want to wait any longer to ask her.

I wanted to call her my wife. Even if we can’t all legally get married.

Everyone knew why they were there which made it more awkward since everyone was looking at us. I hoped they didn’t give it away, but Kyla seemed to be able to distract Holly long enough that she didn’t notice.

After supper, we stayed for a couple more hours before we took the babies and Holly home.

We spent the night celebrating in our own way.

There was a time when I didn’t think we were ever going to get here, but I’m so glad we made it.

There isn’t another woman who is so incredibly perfect for us.

That’s something I will never forget.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Holly

One week later…

Today, my best friend is getting married and I couldn’t be more excited. Even if she looks like she is about to puke.

Kyla’s mom walks in rolling her eyes. “Your dad will be right in. He just had to get something from the car.”

“Uh oh what did he do?” Kyla asks hesitantly.

“You will see,” she replies, sounding exhausted with her husband.

It’s only seconds later when he walks in carrying a chainsaw.

Kyla and my eyes widen at the object.

“Dad, what the hell are you thinking, bringing that here?” Kyla asks, looking shocked.

“This is to warn those men of yours what happens if they hurt my baby girl again,” he says like it’s obvious.

“Dad,” Kyla starts, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

I message Braxton to come here. It’s only seconds later when he walks in. His smile drops the second he sees the chainsaw.

“Whoa, what is going on here?” he asks, looking concerned.

I let out a sigh. I grab the chainsaw from Kyla’s dad, then hand it over to Braxton. “Take this and hide it.”

“Do I even want to know?” he asks, raising an eyebrow.

I shake my head, but Kyla’s dad speaks up. “Just wanting to show those men what I’m packing if they hurt my baby again.”
