Pale, tired, angry, sad, cold.
I don’t blame her for any of it, but I need to find a way to get her back.
It never was a question of if Holly was the one for us. Still, we treated her less than she deserved.
She is worth everything it is going to take for her to forgive us.
I would do anything for her.
I know my men would too.
We are going to do whatever it takes.
I spend the night making plans, and only resting when my body is too exhausted to stay awake any longer.
As soon as visiting hours begin, I get up and head over to the hospital.
Holly and her brother are both sleeping when I walk in, but I just take a seat in the other chair and wait for them to wake up.
I can’t let her push us away. That’s not going to work for me.
It’s only an hour later when Holly shows signs of waking up. I don’t bother moving. I know she will tell me if she wants to kick me out.
When she opens her eyes and looks over at her brother, she smiles softly; but then her eyes move over to me and the smile falls. Fuck, that’s a terrible feeling.
“Easton? What are you doing here?” she asks in a tired voice.
“I came as soon as visiting hours started. I wanted to see if you needed anything,” I tell her.
“I could probably go for a good breakfast,” she says without any hesitation. I hold the smile that wants to break free back since I know she wouldn’t appreciate it right now. It’s good to see that she has an appetite though.
“Alright, I’ll go pick you up some. Anything else?” I ask before standing up.
“Maybe some juice. I’m not sure,” she says, looking away.
“Don’t worry, I will get you some,” I say.
Before I leave, she calls out to me. “Easton?”
I turn around to look at her. “Yeah?”
“Thank you. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, and I’m not sure how much I am willing to give at the moment,” she says after some slight hesitation.
I nod my head, and hopefully she can hear how serious I am. “I know that this is going to be hard. We aren’t going anywhere, and we are going to spend however long it takes until we prove to you how sorry we are. I’m going to do whatever it takes to earn your trust back.”
She doesn’t say anything, but tears well in her eyes.
I leave before anything else can be said, and go to grab some breakfast.
My men are walking up when they see me leave. I tell them that I am going to get Holly some food. I also let them know what Holly had said to me, and then what I had said to her.
Dylan takes off to grab her some clothes and toiletries, and Braxton leaves to get her a selection of drinks we know she likes, and any other snacks she needs.
There will be a long road to forgiveness, but I’m up for the task and I know they are too.
