I use the toilet, and then check to make sure that the bottle of water that I grab is still sealed. When I determine it is, I drink it down. I open the prenatal vitamins to see that they still have that seal on them, so I deem them safe for use.

No matter what, I don’t want any harm to come to my babies.

Who the fuck would do this?

It takes hours before the door opens and the bright light of the sun shines in. I must be in a cellar then.

Two people walk down the steps, and it takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust.

My eyes widen when I recognise the man from the taxi, and see that the person with him is Helen.

Why the fuck would she do this to me?

“I see you are finally awake,” Helen says with a sneer.

“What the fuck am I here for?” I growl out.

“Well, you see, I would be more than happy to end your miserable life, but I just need that baby inside of you for my plan to work. Once the bastard is out of you, I can leave you here to starve to death, or bleed out, depending on how generous I am feeling,” Helen says with a cold look in her eyes.

Terror consumes me.

“Why are you doing this? What good is my baby going to do for you?” I say, not letting on that I’m having twins.

“I get my men back,” she snaps at me.

“Your men? They hate you. What makes you think they want you back?” I say with a smirk, which angers her and causes her to slap me across the face.

The man who has yet to speak pulls her back before she can do any damage.

“They are mine. I will show up with their child and, when they do the paternity test, they will see that it’s theirs and have to keep me in their lives. There is no way for them to escape me, and they will finally realise how much they love me and need me in their lives,” she says, sounding so sure of herself.

“What’s with the bodyguard?” I ask, motioning to the man silently staring at me.

“This is my brother. I needed him to haul your fat ass down here. I also agreed to let him play with you until I’m done with you. We wouldn’t want you to get lonely after all,” she says, causing another wave of terror to flood through me.

“You won’t get away with this,” I say, trying to hide how scared I am, but my voice cracks.

“Oh sweetie, I already have. You see, by fighting with them and leaving, they won’t come looking for you until it’s too late. We already have you in a secure location that they won’t be able to find. Everything just worked out perfectly. Almost like it was meant to be,” she says with a little cackle.

This bitch is crazy.

Her brother licks his lips and gives me a wink before they both leave with her still laughing.

It’s with a sickening realisation that I know she’s right.

They won’t be expecting me back. I told them that I wouldn’t call until I had another appointment, so it will be a couple of weeks before they realise that I’m gone. I forgot to tell them about the ultrasound I was supposed to have.

The only one expecting me is Logan. We made plans, so I hope that he doesn’t forget, and soon realises that I’m nowhere to be found.

I pace up and down the living room. I didn’t say anything to Dylan or Braxton. They both took off somewhere and, when they came home, they went to bed.

I can’t sleep. This is all wrong, and my gut is telling me that Holly needs me.

After a few hours of Holly not responding to my texts, I decide to call Kyla. She has to be with her, right? If not, I could at least call the rest of her friends.

It hits me that we don’t know any of her friends. She’s never introduced us to them.
