Why am I being punished for someone else’s mistakes?

After I stayed the night at Kyla’s, I headed to my brother’s house to stay for awhile. He only lives on the other side of town. The three men who are constantly on my mind don’t even know that I have a brother, and I know that Kyla won’t tell them where I am. I just need space to think.

Chad had understood that I needed a few days off from work. I needed to think about what I’m going to do; where do I go from here?

My brother gets up and answers the door for the takeout we ordered earlier.

He places it on the coffee table and grabs us some cutlery and plates to use.

“So, twins. Are you ready for that?” he asks, breaking the silence.

I shake my head. “Definitely not. I wasn’t prepared when it was just one.”

“You will be great. I’m sure mom and dad would be proud,” he says with a sad smile.

My eyes tear up like they always do when I think about my parents. We had lost them a couple years ago in a car accident. The weather was terrible, and their car flew off the road causing a major accident.

It has just been me and my brother since. We had no other family. Their deaths had made us closer. I don’t know what I would do without my brother.

He helped me a lot through Kyla’s illness. I spent most nights crying in my room at the thought of losing my best friend. My brother held me until it would stop.

“I wish they could be here,” I say quietly.

“Me too. But I know they are watching over us,” he says, and I nod my head in agreement.

“You’ve got to tell me about these three men you say are the father. How does that work?” he asks.

“Well, you know when a boy and girl like each other…” I say with a smirk.

“You know what I meant,” he says laughing.

“Do we need to have the birds and bees talk?” I say with a grin.

“I’m older than you. I know all about the birds and the bees,” he says chuckling.

I raise an eyebrow at him. “By eleven minutes.”

“I learned a lot in those eleven minutes,” he says, and I shake my head at him.

“What am I going to do with you?” I ask with a sigh.

“Well, first, you can tell me about the men who knocked up my sister,” he says calmly.

I let out a sigh and start picking at my food.

“It was one night of fun, I guess. Two of them were my bosses. They are all in a relationship. One thing led to another, and I thought maybe they felt more, but everything became fucked up after that night,” I tell him.

My brother listens as I tell him everything I had been through since hooking up with Dylan, Braxton, and Easton.

The anger shows in his eyes when I tell him about how they treated me when I told them that I was pregnant.

Thankfully, he doesn’t press for more when I finish telling him everything.

I am mentally and emotionally exhausted.

After I finish my food, I lay down.

I joked with Kyla that being in a harem would be a fun time, but it’s anything but that.
