We all will.

We only manage to sleep for a few hours before we all wake up and have something to eat. Kyla tells us about her friend and everything that family has gone through. She doesn’t feel right about just leaving them to work this out.

I decide to make some calls to get Logan some help. I wish we could stay and help, but we have a company we had poorly been running the last few weeks. We need to get back.

Kyla agrees to hire some people. In the end, we get a live-in nurse, and a live-in nanny to help out. The people she hired happened to be a couple guys we knew through college who were in between jobs.

It seems like it worked out perfectly.

We spend the rest of the week getting to know everyone. I can see how reluctant Logan is to ask for help, but he sighs in defeat when Kyla says she will call her parents and get them to move in for her.

The way Logan’s eyes widened after Kyla said that she would move her parents in if he didn’t accept the paid help was hilarious.

Kyla promises the kids that she will visit more; I can see the attachment she has to them. One day, I hope to see her like that with our own children.

“Have you told your parents or Holly that you are coming home?” Ethan asks as we sit on the plane.

Kyla shakes her head. “No, I know they will want to talk about what happened, and Holly is still likely to kill you guys or maim you in some way. I think once we have worked it out, it’ll be easier to deal with. They want me to be happy and, when I’m happy again, they will know.”

Her words hurt my heart, but we deserved to hear them. We will try everything we can to make this woman smile again.

Ethan

I let out a sigh of relief once Kyla is back in our home where she belongs.

The words she said on the plane play over and over in my head.

I knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but the words still gutted me.

This woman should only ever be happy.

I honestly don’t know how we go about making her happy again.

You can feel the tension in the room, whereas before there was lightness and playfulness around us.

Everyone is sitting around eating a supper we had ordered since we were all too tired to cook.

“We haven’t had sex since you left,” I blurt out.

Kyla, who was unfortunately drinking a sip of wine in that moment, choked on her drink.

“I’m sorry. What?” she rasps out as she wipes her face with a napkin.

“We couldn’t think about being together without you, and we will continue to wait until you are ready,” Levi states, and all of us nod our heads in agreement.

“Wow,” Kyla breathes out.

“Yeah, no rush or anything,” Grayson hurries out to say.

“Right, no pressure. You all are just rocking a case of blue balls until I decide,” Kyla says dryly.

“You’re worth it,” Asher states.

“How do we find our way back?” Kyla asks quietly.

“I think it’ll take time. This relationship is worth fighting for. It’s not some switch that can be flipped. Just give us time,” I plead.

Kyla nods her head, and we all sigh in relief.
