An envelope falls out beside her phone, and I turn it over not thinking anything until I see: To whoever has my heart.

My hands shake as I see the words.

Tears well in my eyes and rage takes over my body when I realise that these are the exact words that I wrote years ago.

When Bethany had donated her organs so that someone could have a chance to live.

“How did you get this?” I ask, my tone loud and cold.

Kyla stills and looks as me like a deer caught in the headlights.

“The donor’s family gave that to me when I had my heart transplant,” she says looking at me in confusion.

“How long?” I ask through clenched teeth.

By now, the rest of the men have woken up and are looking between the two of us in confusion.

“How long what?” she says looking lost, but I won’t be fooled by it.

“How long did it take for you to figure out who we were? Did you just want to stick your claws into us so when we realised that you had the love of our life’s heart in your chest that we would be too happy to let you go?” I roar out the last bit in pain.

“Levi, I don’t know what you are talking about. I never knew the donor’s name,” Kyla says tears falling from her eyes.

Each one of my men get up off the bed at my words. I hand the envelope to the nearest one.

“I wrote that letter five years ago to the person who got Bethany’s heart,” I shout.

Kyla gasps and shakes her head. “No,” she says brokenly.

“You are going to stand there and pretend you didn’t know who we were? Was this all just a sick and twisted game to you?” I sneer.

“No, I swear!” she says getting off the bed and taking a step closer to us, but we all step back.

I can see the hurt in her gaze.

“I think you should leave,” Asher says coldly.

“Don’t bother coming back,” Ethan says in the same tone.

When she looks at Grayson, he just turns his head away, not bothering to say anything to her.

I turn away when I hear her sniffles as she gets her purse and phone before leaving. The door slams when she leaves.

“Fuck!” I curse out loud and punch the wall.

“Maybe it’s not what we think,” Grayson says quietly.

“She has Bethany’s heart!” I shout, and let the tears fall from my eyes.

“But it’s sealed. She obviously hasn’t read it,” he shouts back.

“And you really think that she didn’t know who the donor’s family was? The information is easy to find out, especially with who her parents are. I have no doubt they looked into it,” I sneer.

“This doesn’t make any sense,” Ethan says sitting on the bed and dropping his head in his hands.

I let out a roar and fall to my knees.

How could she do this to us?
