Galen doesn’t ask for details. After he saw what Bowen had done to me, no one else would understand what kind of nightmares I would be having. It’s the reason for the fear in his eyes. He hasn’t told me, but I know he still believes one day I’ll blame him for everything that happened and walk away.

Hauling me even closer, he kisses my brow softly. “Next time, wake me, little wolf.”

I smile against his chest as I fight back a yawn. “Because you’re a big, strong alpha who can scare everything away, including nightmares?”

He snorts. “Because you’re not alone, so stop acting as if you are. You have me.”

“You make it sound like you’re the best thing ever,” I murmur with sleep tantalizingly close.

He kisses me again, harder now. “Sleep, little wolf.”

“I’m not tired,” I argue even as I drift off to sleep.

But not before I feel his smile against my head. “Stubborn wench.”

GALEN

“Idon’t see why we couldn’t have had breakfast back at the cabin,” I say, purposely slowing our steps through the forest.

As expected, Sierra pulls on my hand and shoots me a glance too fast to read. “Because we wouldn’t be eating breakfast if I let you have your way.”

When her comment is accompanied by feminine arousal, I slow even further. “It’s not too late to go back. We can say I have a headache.”

She glares at me, but I can’t help noticing the smile that tugs at her bottom lip. “Shifters don’t get headaches.”

My eyes focus on her lower lip, and the smile she’s fighting to hide, and I know I have to taste it. And her.

I move. Sierra doesn’t have a chance to stop me before I have her pinned against a tree, my hands gripping her hips. “Wrap your legs around me.”

At the husky note in my voice, her eyes go half-lidded. “No. We’re not having sex against a tree, and we’re going to be late for breakfast.”

I press a soft kiss against her lips. “There’s only one thing I’m hungry for this morning.”

She looks away, a warm flush spilling over her cheeks. On the surface, she’s confident and comfortable with her sexuality, but there’s another layer to Sierra. There always has been.Thisis truly her. Not the always in control, determined to hold all emotion inside herself woman who had to live that way to survive in the Stone pack.

This Sierra is deeply protective of those she loves, blushes easily, and has a dry humor that I’ll never tire of.

“Galen, stop.”

I lean my hips against her so she can’t help but feel what she’s doing to me. “I haven’t even started yet.”

As her rounded breasts press against my chest, I lower my head and my lips find hers.

Despite her complaints, she responds. Instantly. Her lips part in a soft sigh as she strokes her arms around my shoulders and wraps her legs around my hips, her body cradling my rapidly hardening dick.

She tastes so sweet, so addictive. Groaning, I crush her against me and prepare to head back to the cabin. Fuck the pack breakfast.

Reading my intent, Sierra presses her hands against my shoulders and pushes until I break the kiss.

“Galen, stop.” She leans away. “Everyone is waiting for us.”

I take in her cheeks flushed, lips swollen and dewy from our kiss. I’m dragging her right back when my phone vibrates in my back pocket.

Fuck. Your sense of timing needs work, Dom. Serious work.

When I don’t reach for the cell phone, Sierra raises her brow. “Aren’t you going to answer?”
