She follows me around the kitchen island. “Anything I can do to help you?”
“Nope, things are pretty much done. Lasagna has about ten minutes to go.”
“Come sit,” Liam says.
We pour the wine and then join them, passing out their glasses.
“We were just discussing the next chapter,” Caleb informs Margo and me. “Specifically, your wedding.”
Liam and I trade glances. “It’s coming up,” I say.
We like to joke that we had a tough time picking our wedding party, but that would be a lie. After my attack, Taryn and I grew to be almost inseparable. It only made sense that she’d be my maid of honor, and Liam chose his brother. Caleb, Margo, Eli, and Riley will be beside us. Theo generously offered to officiate.
There was no mention of Lucy Page, and Liam advised we all avoid the issue.
Maybe Theo actually did kill her for stealing his car…
“Then what?” Margo leans forward. “Kids?”
I shrug, glancing at Liam out of the corner of my eye. “Maybe.”
She grins. “Cat will be excited to have a best friend.”
Liam kisses my temple. My heart is impossibly full, even without a child. The ring on my finger, the man of my dreams beside me. Friends. Our journey is only just beginning.
“Maybe soon,” I concede. I fold my legs under myself. “Only time will tell.”
THE END
