She sighed and nodded before giving me a weird look again. I didn’t mind it and just turned my back. I started cleaning while the others went to the dining room to serve dinner. I finished before they could return, so I went straight to our quarters. I fixed the things that I needed to do before going to bed. I slumped my butt on the bed. I let out a sigh and stared at the wall on my right.

I bit my lip as I remembered the things that happened earlier. I felt the corners of my eyes stim. My breathing became heavy as small sobs finally escaped my mouth. I closed my eyes tight and bit my lip to contain my emotions. I clenched my fist as I let the hot tears come out freely. I hate this. I hate crying over everything that he throws at me. I hate being this helpless. Now what? What should I do? Will I just stay as a servant forever? Will I just be this weak forever? Damn it. Damn it, Celine!

I stared blankly at the ceiling for the next minutes before suddenly hearing someone enter the room. I quickly sat straight and wiped my tears.

I heard a heavy sigh. “I knew there was a problem,” a familiar voice said. I listened to her footsteps walking toward me. I tilted my head and didn’t utter a word. I felt her sitting on the other side of the bed.

“He didn’t agree,” It wasn’t a question. Lela knew as she had always expected that answer already. I still didn’t speak. A moment of silence consumed us until I felt her hand patting my shoulder. Slowly, I turned to her.

Our gazes met. She heaved a sigh. “Fine, I’ll train you in secret.”

Chapter Thirteen

“What?” I said, surprised as I shot up from my bed.

I stared at Leila incredulously. I shifted in my seat. “Leila, are you serious?”

She stared at me for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and nodding. “Yes. I am sure,” she said and gave me a small smile.

A gasp escaped my lips. “Leila…” I felt like my whole body just froze. I still couldn’t believe that she said that. It still hasn’t sunk into my head that I needed to keep asking her if it was indeed true.

She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “I said yes,” she said.

I even covered my mouth in disbelief. Leila just rolled her eyes again and nodded. “Oh my gosh! Leila!” I couldn’t help but exclaim.

I could not contain my excitement, so I hugged her. She jolted, surprised by my actions. But she eventually gave me an awkward hug as well.

“Tsk. But I have a condition for this, okay?” she suddenly said before pulling away from the hug.

“Anything, I’m in,” I said.

She raised her brow and crossed her arms again. “Just one, Celine. And that is that this has to be a secret. No one should know, and we will do it when everyone in the pack is asleep already.”

“Okay, okay. No problem,” I answered enthusiastically.

Leila looked at me and slightly shook her head. “You’re really determined to do this, huh?” she said.

I pursed my lips and just smiled at her. “Yes, I am. I am very determined to do this, Leila. Thank you, thank you so much,” I reached for her hands and gripped them tight.

Damn, I was being emotional again. I fought the urge to cry again.

“Leila. Thank you so much,” I said in a heartfelt voice.

“Don’t be too excited tho. I need you to think about this first. The Alpha cannot know about this, or else both of us will be dead. Alpha Lucas hates disobedient people. So if we’re going to do this, we have to be extremely careful,” she said before tapping my shoulder. “Go to sleep then. We will continue talking about this tomorrow.”

“Okay, Lei.”

“Good night, Celine,” she said before returning to bed.

I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face.

When I woke up, I felt so energetic. The bad energy hovering over me for the past few days was immediately washed away. I couldn’t help but smile the whole day. The others looked at me weirdly, as if there was something strange about me. They were probably confused by my fluctuating moods. I can’t blame them since I went from being gloomy to looking highly optimistic.

“Someone woke up on the right side of the bed, huh,” Mia, an omega, said to me while we were cleaning the mansion's living room. The others were in the kitchen and some in the garden.

I just shrugged at her. “Yeah, I guess so,” I just said and joined the others to help them finish the tasks. I was in high spirits that day; perhaps the other servants also felt it.

“You seem to be in a good mood,” Leila said, a small smirk plastered on her lips.
