“Celine, I think you need to rest now,” he said.

I scoffed and shook my head. Fuck. And here I thought that we would be able to talk now! I didn’t say anything. I just stayed there as I felt him leave my side.

“You can come down, or I could just have someone bring you food here,” I heard him say, but I still did not speak.

I swallowed hard and closed my eyes tightly again. I heard his retreating footsteps, and the next thing I knew, the door slammed closed already. And I was left here, all alone again. Wow. Just wow. After everything that I said, I didn’t even get a single explanation or at least an answer from him! He just left me like that!

I bit my lip hard as I let myself fall into the bed. I closed my eyes tightly as I hugged my pillow. The emotional pain I felt was almost tangible, and I could feel it in my chest.

Shit.

I cannot believe I am feeling this for the second time. And here, I thought that I would be able to move on from this pain already. I thought I could never get hurt like this again, but here I am, experiencing my second heartbreak with the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack.

I guess I don’t learn my lessons after all. In the end, an Alpha will always be out of my reach.

I took a deep breath and let the tears come down my face. I didn’t bother to wipe it anymore and just let it fall as I drifted to sleep already.

“Hey, Celine,” Leila called. I turned to her.

“Yes?” I asked. She shrugged.

“Do you want to deliver this to the Alpha? Uhh, he requested his meal to be delivered upstairs.”

I didn’t respond immediately; instead, I eyed her. “Why me?” I asked back. Her forehead creased, and she shrugged again.

“I just want to ask if you want to?”

“And why would I want to?” I shot back, which made her part her mouth.

“Uhh, excuse me? Do you have a problem with Lucas?” she asked. I didn’t answer her. Instead, I turned my back away from her, and she gasped.

“The hell, I was just asking!” she complained, but I didn’t pay attention to that and just went back to the kitchen. I wanted to keep myself busy, so I won’t have to think of anything else. I helped the other omegas with cleaning.

“Celine, you don’t have to help. We can do it already. We’ll take it from here,” Jane said, but I just looked at her without emotion.

‘I’m fine, Jane. I can help. I have nothing to do anyway,” I said as I started to get the plates and placed them in the sink.

“Uhh, don’t you have training or something?” Sheena asked. I shrugged.

“I’ll be fine,” I said as I cleaned the dishes. They didn’t speak again and just let me do what I wanted. The whole kitchen was filled with silence. No one dared even to speak. The only sound I could hear was the running water and the plates I was washing.

When I was done with the chores, I immediately went to the field to train with the pack warriors. I was silent and focused the whole training. I made sure that I wasn’t thinking of anything else but the routine that we were doing.

“Celine, you’re quiet today, huh,” I heard one of the pack warriors say while we were preparing for the arrow shooting.

I took a deep breath and just sighed. “Why? Do I need to be noisy while training?” I answered sarcastically. Her mouth parted in shock. She probably couldn’t believe that I said that. I shook my head and just gathered my arrows. I went to the line and started shooting at the board nonstop. While doing that, I could also hear the whispers and murmurs from the other warriors there.

“She seemed angry.”

“Yeah, noticed too.”

“And she’s sarcastic.”

“What the hell is her problem, though?”

“Well, I have no idea, to be honest.”
