It was followed by a roar of agreement from the werewolves. I took a deep breath. Gamma said other reminders first before finally dismissing the wolves for their duties. Right after that meeting in the Alpha’s office, we immediately went to the field to meet all the pack's werewolves. Leila was here with us as well. She was standing beside me in her warrior dress.

I couldn’t help but think of how special Leila must have been. I don’t know, but I feel that, just like me, she also has a secret. That’s why she was close with the Alpha and the beta, and that’s why she’s also very skillful in battle. She’s not just any other omega. She must have been a pack warrior before. Who knows? I wonder what happened to her and why she became an omega. Well, I don’t plan to ask her about it. We all have secrets to keep.

“I knew you still had secrets in you,” Leila suddenly said. My brows furrowed as I looked at her. She’s wearing her usual poker face while the other side of her lips is raised sideward.

I raised a brow at her. “I could say the same to you, too,” I shot back.

I saw her rolling her eyes and shaking her head. I just made a face and dropped the topic.

My head turned in Lucas’s direction, who was still talking to Beta Darius. He must have noticed my presence because he also looked in my direction. Our eyes met, and I gave him a slight nod. Then he looked at Darius, probably to say his final instructions, before finally walking towards me.

“You two, ready? If yes, let’s go,” he said and walked past us. Leila grinned at me before following him. My forehead creased at her reaction. She’s really weird at times. She’s just like Darius. I shook my head, and eventually, the two of them.

We met with some of the pack warriors. I think there were a total of ten warriors with us, plus me, Lucas, and Leila. We had weapons with us just in case we encountered some battles on the way. I still had no idea how many places we were going to visit and how many packs we would convince today, but one thing was for sure: this was going to be an exhausting day. The same goes with the next few days, I guess?

I sighed and prepared my bow and arrows as well.

“You ready?” Alpha Lucas asked.

I gave him a small smile. “Yeah, I am,” I answered.

He nodded at me.

“Good. Let’s go,” he ordered and led the pack out of there.

We were in the middle of the group. There were warriors ahead of us, and there were also behind us. I was in the middle of Lucas and Leila. Leila was just focused on arranging her small swords and arrows while we were walking, while Lucas was so focused on the trail we were walking on.

“Are you okay?” I heard Lucas ask.

I turned to him, and our eyes met. Suddenly, I am in the middle of a hypnotic trance under his eyes again. His hand smoothly reached for my hand, and he gently squeezed it.

“Celine,” he called once more.

I was taken aback. The way his hand caressed my knuckles sent sparks all over my body. So I tried to pull myself together. Damn it, Celine. Focus.

“I-I’m fine, Alpha. Thanks for asking,” I managed to reply.

My heart was wildly pounding against my chest as I felt the electricity sensation spreading across my body. Shit. Why does he always have this kind of effect on me?

I tried to smile at him and slowly get my hands away from him, but he just gripped them hard even more.

My eyes widened. I looked at him in shock, but his eyes were already on the road as if casually holding my hand right now wasn’t such a big deal for him.

Fuck. What is happening? Are we going to hold hands until we reach our destination?! Shit.

‘Oh, shit! I’m hot!’

I gritted my teeth at my irritating wolf.

“For fuck’s sake, Cinna, shut up!”

My wolf only laughed. I just rolled my eyes. I then felt Leila nudging me. I quickly looked at her.

“W-What?” I nervously asked, but she just gave me a meaningful look and a grin. Before she looked away, she pointed to our hands using her lips.

My mouth parted in shock. I felt like the blood in my body just went up to my face making me blush. What the heck?!
