It was another normal day in the pack. Everyone was doing their usual routine. The pack warriors were training nonstop while the others were tightening the security outside the pack and the borders.
Miraculously, there has been no attack from any of the pack. Crest Moon has been quiet for a while now. No movements were reported, and no attacks from the rogues had been detected. It was probably the quietest week that we have ever had. Nevertheless, even though it was quiet and there was no attack, we still had to improve our skills. That’s what I did. I will train with the other warriors if I’m not serving the Alpha as his cook. That’s why I am thankful for the Alpha because he lets me do two things.
“Celine, you are called by the Beta.” I stopped checking my arrow and looked back at the pack warrior who called me.
My forehead creased as I put down the bow and arrow I was holding. “Did he tell you why?” I asked.
He just shrugged before shaking his head. I sighed and then nodded.
“He’s at the training room with the Alpha,” he said.
I stopped in my tracks. Is he with the Alpha? Fuck. I felt my heart skip a bit. Cinna became restless.
“Get a hold of yourself!”I talked to her.
‘I feel what you feel, too,’she teased. I massaged my head and closed my eyes tightly. Seriously?!
I let out a deep sigh before shaking my head as I walked toward the training room. I stopped when I reached the doorstep and sensed who was inside before taking another deep breath. Finally, I knocked on the door. I felt my heart thumping so hard like it was going to get out of my chest.
“Come in,” I heard the Alpha’s baritone voice.
I cleared my throat. “Uhh, it’s me, Celine,” I said, stuttering. Damn it.
“Yes, I said come in.”
Shit. Why did I even introduce my presence when he had already asked me to come?
I shook my head before finally getting inside. I was greeted by an empty room full of armors, swords, and other kinds of weapons. The Blood Moon pack is really unique among all other packs in the realm. They’re the only packs that let their warriors use different kinds of weapons in battle. Back in Crest Moon, our most used weapons were mostly arrows and swords. The arrows were usually for hunting and not really for battle.
“Hey, Celine,” Beta Darius waved his hand at me. He was grinning while sitting on the small table at the center of the room. Alpha Lucas was sitting on the chair beside him. His arms and legs were crossed together while eyeing me.
“Uhh, you called for me, A-Alpha?” I stuttered.
Shit, what’s wrong with me?
‘Pft. What a distracted she-wolf are we.’
I almost rolled my eyes when Cinna’s taunting me again. She’s become so annoying again these past few days. Tsk.
“We’re going hunting. Do you want to come with us?” Alpha Lucas asked.
My mouth parted in surprise while alternately looking at the two of them.
“Hunting?” I asked in disbelief.
Beta Darius shrugged. “Yeah. You’re one of the best when it comes to bow and arrow, so we figured that you might want to come with us,” he said.
Cinna whimpered.‘Go! Go! Go!’
“Uhh, sure. Yes,” I replied, smiling.
Beta Darius just nodded and then stood up. Alpha Lucas, on the other hand, stared at me for a few more seconds before finally standing, too. I felt my heart skip a bit again when our gazes met. Shit.
“Get your arrow,” he ordered while standing just a few inches away from me. Fuck. My eyes went wide. How the hell did he get beside me that fast?! I didn’t even blink! Our proximity made me even more nervous. Damn. It took me five seconds to fully recover to my senses. I marched to the side of the room and got a bow and arrow. When I turned around, they were already out of the room. I sighed and walked faster to keep up with them.
I was just following them as we went to the back exit of the pack. I quickly looked around and saw that we had no other company. It was just the three of us heading to the forest outside.
So, it would be just us three?
