Then I heard a clap behind us. I let out a deep breath before I let go of his hand so I could help him stand. We shook hands after the good match.

He smirked at me. "You've really improved a lot, Celine. You're one of the toughest warriors now," he praised.

"Nice one, Celine!" I heard one of the warriors comment as well. I just smiled at them.

"You're really one of the best now," my sparring partner said proudly. I laughed a bit.

"Thanks to all of you," I replied. He just nodded before leaving to get some water. I decided to have some rest as well. I turned around only to see Alpha Lucas standing behind me.

"A-Alpha! You're here!" I stuttered a bit.

I heard Cinna snort in my mind. Damn it.

"Nice practice you got there," he complimented.

A smile crept to my lips as I stared at him.

"Thanks!" I replied happily, my heart still thumping violently.

Standing there in front of him was so awkward, and he wasn't even talking. No matter what I did, my heart would always beat loudly whenever I spoke to him. It was like it recognized his voice, that a single word from him could send my heart into summersault. Especially now that his eyes are intently staring at me again. What’s worse is that I could hear my wolf playfully purring at the back of my mind whenever I tried my best to act normally.

Damn it.

I almost held my breath when I felt him walking toward me. We stared at each other. Shit. Why do I feel like my heart was going to burst!

'You feel something…'Cinna teased.

Oh, shut up!

I groaned in secret, but that earned a glance from the Alpha. His brows furrowed as he crossed his arms.

"What wrong, Celine?" he asked curiously.

My eyes widened a bit. I immediately shook my head. Fuck. My heart felt like it would go out of my chest any freaking time!

"I can't tell if you're happy or what. Are you okay?" he asked.

I blinked multiple times. I saw the amusement on his face, which made my face heat up. I froze in realization. Oh my gosh, did I just blush?!

"Celine…" My heart skipped a beat when I felt his hand on my shoulder, which made me stunned at him. I felt like my whole surroundings just slowed down and froze. I was looking at his face, watching his every movement.

My heart tugged suddenly. I was just pulled back to reality when he tapped me multiple times.

"Uhh y-yes, Alpha?" I asked, disoriented.

He was looking at me confusingly. "I was asking if you will not join the rest of the group," he pointed out to the group of warriors who were ready to train with the weapons already.

I muttered a curse softly and immediately bowed at the Alpha.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I'll go now," I said and almost ran to the group.

Damn it. I want to be swallowed by the ground because of my embarrassment. I wore that embarrassment the whole day that I couldn't even think straight about what I should have been thinking. Hell, I wasn't even able to get information about my father because I was so distracted!

'Distracted with the Alpha. I wonder why.'

Oh my gosh! Shut up!
