They stopped just a few meters away from me. “What? You’ve got the nerves to face me now, Celine?” she asked insultingly.

“I’m not the same Celine you used to step on, Daria. That Celine is dead,” I said fiercely. She let out a mocking laugh.

“Oh really? I don’t see a change, though,” she smirked. I clenched my teeth.

“Why don’t we try?” I smirked. I didn’t even wait for her answer. Briskly, I got an arrow and shot her in the leg, which made her cry in pain.

“Ah! You bitch!” she growled as well as the other two. Angry, they attacked us in their wolf form. Beta Darius and Alpha Lucas swiftly shifted while I tried to shoot Daria once more before jumping into her and changing into my wolf form.

‘Oh, I’ll love this!’ Cinna purred and excitedly grabbed the injured Daria. She was fighting and growling hard as I placed her beneath me. She tried to get me off her, but I pinned her down and clawed her.

I’m not the same Celine anymore, bitch!

Chapter Twenty-Nine

I didn’t know if it was the anger that I had kept for years that made me motivated to claw her left and right. Her howling and growls filled the air together with the two bitches who Alpha Lucas and Beta Darius had already defeated.

I mentally cursed when she immediately pushed me away, causing me to fly a few meters from her place. Alpha Lucas’ wolf growled at me, but I just nodded at him telling him that I was okay. I looked back at Daria again. Her two injured bitches were already beside her, and they were looking at us as if they were about to attack.

Huh. They just do not know when to give up. I mean, it’s obvious that we have the upper hand, but these three are just really stubborn. Let’s see how long they’ll last then. Daria let out a long howl, making the three of us look at each other. I gritted my teeth and was already pissed. I wanted to end this bitch right now, but just as I was about to pounce on her, smoke suddenly appeared and blinded my vision. I ran backward as the smoke continuously enveloped our surroundings.

Alpha Lucas growled in anger. I had to blink multiple times before adjusting my eyes from the fucking smoke. We saw that the three bitches were gone when it was already slowly fading.

Fuck. They escaped!

We all growled so hard that it echoed through the whole Crest Moon. That cunning bitch!

We had no choice but to retreat after that. Although the mission to rescue the captive wolves was a success, it was still a loss for us. Daria was able to escape with her bitches. We immediately went home to our pack. Alpha Lucas didn’t want us to stay there anymore because they might set some traps for us. Besides, their leaders weren’t there for us to fight. We had no choice but to return, bringing our wounded warriors along with the captive werewolves.

It was an exhausting day for all of us, so we immediately took a rest when we returned to the Blood Moon territory. The wounded were treated quickly while the others went to their houses to rest first.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Leila asked when she saw me in the kitchen, ready to prepare the Alpha’s food for dinner. I just gave her a small smile.

“Yeah. Just some battle scars, but I’m fine,” I said.

She nodded, but her eyes lingered on me.

“Did something happen in your previous pack?” she suddenly asked.

I stopped in my tracks before I slowly turned to face her.

“We got into a fight,” I said.

She raised an eyebrow at me. “That’s a given. What else?” She probed.

I averted my gaze at her. A part of me wanted to tell her what had happened earlier. But I didn’t seem to have enough strength to do that, so I gave her a weak smile and changed the topic.

“I’m about to finish this up,” I said, focusing on my task again.

Leila noticed that I didn’t intend to talk about it further, so she just let it slide.

Fortunately, I was done earlier than usual, so I could rest quickly and freshen up.

When I went out again of the bathroom, I was shocked to find out that the Alpha hadn’t gone down for his dinner yet. I went to Leila and looked at the food covered in the tray.

“He won’t eat?” I asked worriedly. Leila turned to me and shrugged.

“I don’t know.”
