I didn’t know what got into me, but I suddenly walked up to him and held his arms. His flaming eyes darted to me. I bit my lip hard. I tried to give him a small smile.
“Maybe we’ll get them some other time -”
But my statement was cut short when we heard an explosion outside. It was so loud, and the impact was so strong that we were almost blown up even though we were inside the mansion.
“Shit!” Lucas cursed as he grabbed to shield me from the impact.
“Fuck! What happened?!” I heard Beta Darius shout. It was followed by the Gamma’s curse.
“It’s the Luna! She brought reinforcements!” I heard him say.
My mouth parted. Lucas was still holding me in his arms. I looked up at him, and he met my gaze, his jaw clenched.
“Proceed with the rescue. I will handle that,” he said coldly, his voice dripping with danger. He looks extremely infuriated right now, like the fire in his eyes has completely devoured his emotions. He withdrew his arms from me and walked away.
“Wait!” I said.
“What?” Lucas gritted his teeth. I heaved a sigh and looked him in the eyes.
“You brought me here to face them, right? You brought me here to face the pack that abandoned and hurt me. You said I wanted revenge just like you. Now, let me have the revenge I want,” I bravely said.
He penetrated on me as if weighing his options.
“Very well. Show them what you got,” he finally answered, smirking.
I couldn’t help but grin as well. And together, we walked towards the front door with our heads up high like we owned the fucking world.
But we were instantly welcomed by chaos the moment we got out. The colors orange and red dominated the field like a painting depicting a bloody war. There were burning houses, blood, dead bodies, and running werewolves scattered around.
I clenched my fist. This is not good. We need to keep moving, or else it’ll be too late for our captured allies. We can’t afford to sustain severe casualties.
“Oh, look what we have here.”
My ears tingle at the sound of a very familiar voice. Slowly, I turned my head toward where the voice was coming from.
“The fucking traitor is back,” she added while staring at me darkly.
“Daria, the fucking whore of a Luna,” I whispered bitterly while staring at her.
She was surrounded by her minions, the same ones who attempted to kill me before.
I heard Beta Darius chuckle because of my words.
“Huh, so this is the Luna. I expected more, to be honest,” he said mockingly. I fought back the urge to laugh.
“Don’t expect more. Their Alpha’s got poor decision-making skills,” I smirked.
Beta Darius and I exchanged glances, and both of us had mocking expressions plastered across our faces.
“Get the Luna. We’ll take care of the other she-wolves,” Alpha Lucas ordered.
I raised my eyebrow at him, stunned that he let me handle Daria myself.
“It’s your fight. Mine’s not here yet,” he said meaningfully.
A smile crept to my lips when he said that.
He’s right. I’ve been waiting for this moment. Now, I’ll have to make Daria pay for her past atrocities. I turned my attention back at her and the two other bitches beside her. They were approaching me like hungry hyenas in the desert.
