“I have to go,” he muttered. He’s back in his usual monotonous voice.

My heart won’t still stop beating as I watch him exit the clinic.

Damn it. What is this?

It took me roughly three days before I could fully recover and was able to go to my usual routine again. It was a normal day, and we had just finished serving the Alpha his breakfast when a pack warrior went up to me while I was washing the plates in the kitchen.

"Alpha Lucas is calling you to his office," he said.

My eyebrows automatically shut up. Leila and I looked at each other. She just shrugged at me. I heaved a sigh and nodded at the warrior. I washed my hands and followed him to the Alpha's office upstairs. I knew there was something wrong when I saw the Beta and the Gamma inside the office. There were some pack warriors with them as well.

"Good morning," I greeted them.

The Beta and Gamma both nodded at me in response.

"Have a seat," Alpha Lucas said.

I gulped and slowly went to the chair in front of his table. He was sitting on his big chair like a king while the two high-ranking officials were standing on his right like towering sentinels.

I scanned the room again and turned my attention back to Alpha Lucas. He looks so serious as he flatly puts his palm on the table. His eyes immediately found their way to me. A part of me wanted to gaze back at him, but my heart kept beating wildly every time our eyes locked, so I decided to just avert mine from him.

I cleared my throat before gathering the courage to speak.

"What is it all about, Sir?" I asked. My eyes darted to the floor.

Lucas sighed. "Some of our warriors are captives in Crest Moon. Unfortunately, our spies were captured in an encounter. We need to save them,” he said exasperatedly.

My eyes darted at him in shock as my mouth parted a bit.

What did he just say?

I glanced at the Beta and Gamma to confirm what I had just heard, and they just nodded at me.

Damn it. What would happen to our spies now? I’m pretty sure the Crest Moon did not capture them so they could have a day off. They are probably torturing them for information about the Blood Moon pack. Shit.

"We will be going there before the sun goes down. We will rescue them," Gamma said.

I turned to him as he announced our plans. I remained quiet, unable to think of what to say. The conflicted emotions within are blurring my sense of judgment. They are about to invade my former pack, shit.

"We need to get them out as soon as possible, Celine. Or else it would be too late for them," it was the Beta who spoke this time.

My eyes widened a bit. I took the courage to look at Lucas again.

"We need you to come with us during the operation," Alpha Lucas said.

I gasped again in disbelief. What? Will they have me join their invasion?

"M-Me?" I couldn't help but feel anxious and nervous at the same time.

Am I hearing this right?!

The three men looked at each other before they all nodded. My mouth parted in shock.

"You’re more familiar with the pack’s landscape, so it’ll be an advantage for us if we bring you along," Lucas explained, his cold gaze never leaving me.

I blinked multiple times. I still couldn't believe what they were saying! Oh my gosh!
