We all got ready. As if on cue, the wave of rogues came.

“Attack!”

We all ran to welcome them.

“Ha! Ha! Yah!” I gathered all my strength and threw a flying kick at the werewolf in front of me. He grunted and looked at me with those dangerous eyes. I stepped back and cursed when he suddenly jumped and transformed into his werewolf form. Fuck.

I quickly got a sword and tried to neutralize him, but he was too big. I muttered a curse again. I had no choice but to call Cinna. I looked around first, only to see that almost half of the warriors were in their wolf form already. Damn it. These rogues were more powerful than those who attacked us a few days ago.

I clenched my fist.

‘I’m ready,’ I heard Cinna say.

Hell, me, too!

I stepped back once more before I ran into the big black wolf and transformed into my wolf form. I howled and looked him in the eye before slashing him with my sharp claws. I didn’t stop until I could put him beneath me, and that’s when I threw my final stroke on him.

I looked up and growled. The other werewolves followed me.

Panting, I transformed back into my human form. I shivered and realized that I was stark naked. Before falling to my feet to cover my body, I felt an arm around my shoulders while a white sheet wrapped around my naked body.

I wasn’t used to this kind of treatment, so I was pleasantly surprised. I looked up to see who covered me and looked at those familiar, beautiful blue eyes.

“Lucas…” I breathed.

Then there was darkness.

Chapter Twenty-Six

I felt a sharp pain throbbing in my head the moment I gained consciousness. I blinked multiple times before adjusting my eyes to the light.

“Hey, are you okay?”

I looked to my right and saw Leila standing beside the bed. I narrowed my eyes and looked around again.

“Where am I?” I asked in a small voice. I felt Leila sitting down beside me.

“You’re in the clinic along with the others. You fell unconscious after the fight.”

My mouth parted a bit. I looked at her nervously.

“What happened? D-Did we lose?” I asked in horror. She just raised a brow at me.

“Why would you think that? Of course not. Those rogues were more powerful than the last ones, but we are also powerful, Celine, so we were able to defeat them. However, a lot was hurt and exhausted after that last fight. You even got unconscious. You’re lucky that Alpha Lucas was there to catch you.”

I was stunned for a second. My eyes furrowed as I stared at her, trying to remember what happened to me. I knew I was in battle. I fought a big wolf in my wolf form, defeated him, and then I was so exhausted that I felt my body collapse then…

My mouth parted when the memory of Lucas’ blue eyes flashed in my mind. He was the one who caught me. He caught me before I fell to the ground.

Shoot.

I cleared my throat and scanned the whole place.

"Where's Alpha Lucas?"

I didn't even know why I asked that. Damn.

She raised a brow again. "He's attending to the other warriors. They were also finding out how those rogues were able to infiltrate us. Why? Do you need something?"
