“Thank you! Thank you!” I said happily. I have a lot of things to be thankful for. But all of these wouldn’t be possible without her help.
I took a deep breath and finally pulled away from the hug. I saw her rolling her eyes at me. “It’s all you, Celine. You don’t owe me anything,” she said.
I pressed my lips together and shook my head. “No, I owe you everything that I have here. I owe you my second life. If not for you, I wouldn’t have been here,” I truthfully said. I even bit my lip to refrain from crying. Damn it, why do I even feel like crying anyway?
I shook my head.
“Ehem,” I immediately turned to my left when I heard that. Beta Darius was already looking at me. “Shall we proceed to the inauguration, then?” he said, smiling from ear to ear.
I pressed my lips together and nodded. He then led me to the center, where the Alpha and the Gamma were waiting. I took a deep breath before finally walking toward the two officials. I met Lucas’ gaze. I gave him a small smile and mouthed, ‘thank you.’He just nodded slightly before looking at the Gamma. As if on cue, the Gamma signaled a hand, and the trumpet began to blow.
I heaved a sigh and slightly closed my eyes. Never in my life did I ever imagine that I would be in this place. Blood Moon has probably the most unique tradition in the Werewolf Realm. They were the only pack with well-trained werewolves, even omegas. They were the only pack to have all their members capable of fighting regardless of rank, and I think they were also the only pack that allowed an omega to be a pack warrior, just like what they are doing to me right now.
I don’t know if it’s really part of their tradition or if I was just an exception because I would be useful for them in battle. Whatever the reason was, It didn’t matter to me. I’m just happy that I get to become a pack warrior. It also means that I could have the chance to explore outside the territory. Perhaps I could even visit the Crest Moon one of these days as well. But more importantly, I am closer to unraveling the mystery behind my father’s death.
I have been stuck for the past few days with insufficient information about that night because I was so busy with training again, and I could barely talk to the pack warriors and Leila about it. This is my last chance to gather more information.
The months of training finally paid off. I may not be the strongest or the most skilled in the pack, but I was still proud of my achievements. I was able to see that there is more that I could do other than being just a commoner.

“So, you’re still gonna be a cook, huh?” I heard Leila say one evening when I was preparing the dish Lucas asked me to.
I creased my forehead and turned to her. “Why not? I’m still his cook anyway,” I said and shrugged. She didn’t reply and just helped me with it, anyway.
I shook my head and went back to what I was doing. I finished two dishes from him just like what he instructed me. After that, I came with the other omegas to serve him in the dining room.
We were busy serving him when suddenly the horns outside blew. In a split second, we all stopped what we were doing. Alpha stood and looked at us. “We’re being attacked. To your posts,” he calmly commanded.
I took a deep breath. He then turned to me, and our eyes met. “Let’s go, Celine,” he said. I didn’t know what had gotten into me, but I suddenly felt my heart flutter.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and gave him a small nod. “Let’s go.”
Everything was in chaos already when we got out of the mansion. It seemed that the attackers had already penetrated us. I clenched my fist and stretched my neck. “Make me proud, Celine,” I heard him say before running into the battlefield. I took in a deep breath before running after him as well.
“Ha! Yah!”
I have been waiting and anticipating this day, and I never imagined it would be this good to break the bones of intruders.
“Ah!” the guy cried when I dislocated his arm. I pushed him to the ground and turned around with a kick to hit the other man who was about to attack me.
All I could hear were the screams and the banging and cracking of bones around. Everyone was taking care of business. I saw the walls coming up to secure the pack and not to let any intruder out.
The omegas who were servants at day turned to be the fearless warriors they were inside. I was already sweating and breathing heavily, but I would not let this down without a fight.
“Are you enjoying your first fight so far?”
I immediately turned around only to see the Alpha behind me. We were standing back to back in the center. I couldn’t help but smirk at that. “I am.”
“Yah! Ha!” I gave the wolf an uppercut. He tried to pull me to him, but I immediately stepped on his shoes and turned him around instead. I was holding both his hands on his back while he was screaming in pain. I took a deep breath and was about to kick him on the back when someone punched him in the face.
I quickly let go of him and looked up to see who had done that. My eyes widened when I saw the Alpha shaking and caressing his fist. I scoffed and shook my head. He then looked at me. “Not bad for a first-timer,” he said and smirked. As if on cue, the horns blew again, which meant that the enemy had backed down and had been neutralized.
I heaved a sigh. When I looked up, I found Lucas staring down at me. Again, I couldn’t help but get lost in the magnificent blue of his eyes. I wonder, how can someone so fierce be so goddamn beautiful?
His mouth curved up in a crooked smile. Somehow, I felt like the world had disappeared around us, and everything moved in slow motion.
My heart stopped beating when I felt his rough hand touch me gently on the shoulder. “You made me proud tonight, little one.”
