Page 52 of Love Me Like You Do

“Who the hell was that asshole?” I ask Calliope as we pull away from the curb.

“He’s no one.” She rests her hand on my thigh but it does little to ease the raging jealousy coursing through me over that douche-nozzle…ohh hell, I sound like Finley right now. Douche-nozzle, I don’t use words like that.

“No one would go all growly like that.”

“Says the growly one,” she throws back at me.

“He started it.” I huff.

“Aww, you’re cute when you’re all jealous.”

“I’m not jealous,” I snap. She stares at me with a ‘really’ expression on her face. “I wasn’t jealous per se, I was just worried about you.”

“I’m a big girl, Kane, I know how to look after myself, but for what it's worth, thank you for looking out for me.”

“I’ll always look out for you, Sunshine.”

She smiles at my response before shuffling closer to me. She lifts her hand from my leg and begins to trace her fingertip up my arm. “How can I ever thank you for looking out for me?”

“I have a few ideas.”

“I bet you do … but they’ll have to wait, because we’re here.”

Looking up, I smile when I see the taxi has come to a stop at the hotel. Pulling out my wallet, I hand the driver the fare and climb out. Turning, I offer Calliope my hand. She places hers in mine and hand in hand we enter the hotel, cross the lobby to the elevators, and we wait. There’s a ding then the doors open. “After you,” Calliope says, ushering me in.

“Shouldn’t I be letting you go first?”

“Probably,” she replies with a shrug, “but I wanna check your ass out.”

“What the lady wants, the lady gets.” Turning around, I step into the elevator and lift my jacket up so she can see my denim-clad ass. Looking over my shoulder, I ask, “To your liking, madam?”

“Very much so.” She nods with a smile.

“You’re turn,” I playfully reply.

“I’ll save my ass for upstairs … I have a treat in store for you, Mr. Heatherington.”

“Well, hurry up and get into this elevator, Ms. Fischer.”

She salutes me and steps in. Walking straight over to me, she pushes me against the elevator wall, and presses her lips to mine. Sliding my hand up her back, we kiss. Devouring each other’s mouths. The clearing of a throat has us pulling apart. Calliope lowers her head to my shoulder in embarrassment while I smile at the elderly couple in the entrance to the elevator.

“We’ll get the next one, George,” the lady sneers, and if looks could kill we’d be dead. Her husband on the other hand is grinning like a fool and giving me the ‘go you’ look. His wife notices and she whacks him in the stomach, he grunts from the force of the hit.

“Have a good evening, folks,” I offer with a nod, leaning around Calliope to press the button for our floor.

Once the doors have closed, Calliope lifts her head, mortification written all over her gorgeous, flushed face. “Oh. My. Fucking. God, that was mortifying.”

“I found it hilarious.” That comment earns me a smack to the stomach like George only moments ago. “Come on, Sunshine, it’s funny.”

“I hate you right now,” she growls. Stepping around me, she crosses her arms and leans against the back of the elevator. The way she holds her arms causes her breasts to lift up. My gaze focuses on them but when I feel her glaring at me, I lift my gaze to hers. “You seriously are not checking me out right now?”

“Well, umm, yeah I am, your tits are always amazing and holding them up like that makes me want to bury myself in between them again, like I did at the club earlier.”

“You’re such a perv.”

“Only for you, Sunshine, only for you.”

“Whatever,” she sasses. “Maybe I won’t tell you my news now.”
