“Then, I guess she’s fast asleep. Did you enjoy the party?” I changed the topic quickly.
“Yeah, the food was good, especially those macarons, and the pie was to die for.”
“Glad to hear that. Drive home safely, Jacob, and have a lovely night,” I said to him and walked away.
I found Nora with Kayden, who was playing with some kid.
“There you are.” I tickled him before carrying him in my arms.
He giggled and held on to me. I told them we were leaving and met Tristan outside. He smiled at me as I entered the car.
“Hey, little man.” Tristan ruffled his hair.
I put Kayden in his car seat next to his sister, and we hit the road. We drove to the new house. We were still furnishing the interior, but we already had the kids’ room ready and some parts of the house.
Kayden was already fast asleep before we got to the house. It took a lot of effort to bathe the kids and put them to sleep after waking them up.
Tristan was just leaving the bathroom, only in his pajama pants, when I entered.
“You finally succeeded,” he said, drying his hair with a blue towel.
Kayla was the only one who refused to go back to sleep. It took me a while to put her back to sleep. Tristan didn’t have any problem with Kayden, who dozed off while wearing his pajamas.
“It took three books to get her to sleep.” I stretched as I walked to the bathroom.
I undressed and took a warm bath.
Tristan was scrolling through his work tablet when I came out of the bathroom. He took a glance at me and gave me a small smile. I wore my black bralette and cotton underwear. Lately, it’d become impossible to sleep in decent nightwear. Maybe it was the constant spooning with Tristan. I walked to the wide windows and pulled the drapes apart. I liked the soft glow of the moon reflecting on the lake and streaks of white lights hitting the room. I liked to wake up to the warmness of the sun on my face and watch the golden lines cast on Tristan’s toned skin while I traced them with my fingers.
“No work. You agreed,” I said, climbing on him.
“Sorry. There are a couple of important emails I need to attend to ASAP,” he said, opening his legs as I settled between them to rest on his body.
“It’s almost two a.m. It can wait,” I said, taking the tablet from him.
He sighed but didn’t fight me. I placed it on the nightstand and smiled smugly at him.
“How are you feeling?” I asked, resting my chin on his chest.
“Sore, but I’m still the happiest man alive,” he said, tracing my collarbone and skimming up my neck to my face.
“Want a massage? You’re not the only one with magic hands,” I said, pulling away.
I forced him onto his stomach before he could protest.
I smacked his ass before straddling his waist. He sighed while I giggled. I slowly ran my fingers up his back, trying to soothe his sore muscles. I felt him relax as I moved my hands in a circular motion, like he always did. He made a groan of contentment when I reached his shoulders. I leaned closer as I moved down his arms. I watched his facial muscles relax, and I smiled at the comfort I was providing him.
“Don’t fall asleep,” I said, pinching his arm.
“Babe, that feels too good. I’m even getting a hard-on.” He laughed softly.
“I’ll scratch you.”
“Mmm, yes,” he moaned.
“Oh God.” I laughed.
“I have a question,” I said, running my palms up his ribs.
