“You’re mine, Sigma.”
Chapter 35
Sebastian
“Wyattisclose.”Rowanground his teeth. “So close, I think he is waiting on the other side of the borders of the coven territory. Possibly in the human town. Unless he is feeding with consent, he poses a threat to humans. He needs to be handled properly.”
“How could he know that she is here?” Vanessa gasped, holding her hand to her mouth. “You have her phone. You put some sort of blocker on it, right?” Rowan only nodded, confirming.
“The dream must have given him a glimpse of where she was. This place is one of a kind, and many supernaturals of the Earth realm know where this place is.” Rowan rubbed the stubble on his cheek.
“Elder Rowan has sent scouts to the town. Of course, they all started dressing like Sebastian, so now they stick out like a sore thumb.” Suron laughed, leaning up against the tree. “Something about a suave Bergarian man having all the lady humans gawking at him started it.”
“They pay no attention to me,” I snapped. “I’m here for Christine alone. Those women can go fuck themselves.” I rolled my eyes. This wasn’t the time to worry about my looks or that people were copying me on how I dress. My beloved was in danger, and this was not the time.
“Oh, not just the females.” Suron winked. “The male humans like it too. Groups of vampires have been going into the suit shop in town trying to dress it up. You’ve stolen all their thunder, and now they want to dress in the old ways.” Looking Suron up and down, he was still clad in dark jeans and a button-down plaid shirt.
“I don’t follow the crowd.” Suron waved his hand. “I like how I look, and hopefully, my mate will too,” he said off-handedly.
Albeit the stress we were all feeling, it was good to see Suron smile again. He wasn’t one that would dwell on the sadness of his family being gone, but who knows what he did in the darkness of his home.
“We’ll find him,” Rowan growled out again. “The coven is required to by the agreement sent forth with the Mayor. We also have to inform him of what is going on. Otherwise, it will raise suspicion within the unknowing humans. I’m sure he will come up with another ‘fake conference’ of sorts for the influx of men in three-piece suits.” Rowan’s eyes squinted playfully.
I rolled my eyes again until Rowan cleared his throat. “There is one more threat. A human threat, so not as dangerous, but still a threat nonetheless.”
“Human?” I questioned. Rowan nodded, his eyes looking over the lake.
“Yes, a man. Who we have identified as Broderick Clarkson.” Rowan’s stare hit Vanessa, and her face turned pale.
“What, why is he here?” Her hands shook. “I blocked his number. I got rid of him. He isn’t supposed to be here!” Justin wrapped her in his arms, petting her cheek with his hand.
“It’s all right. No one is going to harm you or take you away from me,” Justin purred in her ear. “I’ll fucking kill your ex-husband if he stands anywhere near you,” Rowan whispered to Suron, who only nodded and walked away with a cell phone in his hand, making a call.
“He’ll be taken care of.” Rowan crossed his arms. “He will be erased of his memories. The witches here to help us with the incubus have arrived and will wipe his memory clean. Unless you want us to take care of him?” Rowan raised a brow, a smirk playing on his lips.
“I think having his memories forgotten would be for the best,” Vanessa muttered. “Not unless he became hostile, especially toward Christine. What do you think, Christine?” We all turned our heads to speak with my beloved, but she was gone.
“Christine?” I said in a panic. My heart leaped from my chest, sensing fear and anxiety.
“Christine!” I yelled out loud enough to filter through the trees of the forest. How could she have wandered off so silently?
Duh, she changed into a vampire, you dipshit.
“I’ll find her, get Vanessa back to the house and Rowan, let me know what I can do for the incubus search.” Before I could hear a reply, I was already stepping into the woods. My heart pulled where my mate could be, and it only led deeper. With my phone in my pocket, I kept the communication close. Unfortunately, I couldn’t link like the werewolves, and I had become too reliant on the stupid technology the humans had created.
Pounding into the dirt, I hear a scuffle yards away. My heart continued to pull me to a small wall of rocks and trees, and I crept up quietly as I heard a wolf growl with a thunderous thump into the soil. The familiar smell was Pamela, and the whimpering was that of submission.
Finally, she got caught. Thank the gods. Rowan was about to lose himself dealing with a naked woman running around.
My heart pulled me to the small circle of boulders, seeing my mate peering over the rocks. Today, she was wearing a short leather skirt with her black lace-up boots and top. Her body was hugged by the fabric in all the right places, and my cock stiffened as I saw her lean over the rock to get a better look at the almost mating couple. The curve of her ass was being tickled by the hem of the skirt, the low growl in my throat had to be hushed, so I could sneak up on her and not frighten her.
Disturbing the werewolves before a mate bonding could be dangerous. With my raging cock at attention, it would be a brutal fight if I had to beat up a werewolf. Creeping inside the rock formations, I came up behind my beloved, covering her mouth with my hand and my lips near her ear. She startled, trying to shake away, but I whispered, “It’s all right, it’s me.” I sucked on her ear lobe, and she relaxed.
She tried to turn, but I kept her steady, keeping her ass next to my erection. “You were a naughty little fangling trying to run away. What if you got caught by someone other than me?” I hissed in her ear. My hand went around her throat, she swallowed, and the smell of her arousal filtered into my nose.
My kinky little fangling.
As pissed as I was for her running into the woods, I knew it had to be from the snarling Enzo. Fear still radiated from my beloved, and soon I would teach her how to defend herself. Her ass pressed toward my cock, rubbing my erection, trying to make me forget my anger, but I wouldn’t forget.
