“Can you at least tell me how long this is going to take?”

“You have somewhere more important to be that you want to tell me about, Dom?”

“A loose end,” I bit out gravely.

His eyes round, flaring with heat. “Come again?”

“Just something I couldn’t finish while the twins were present. It’s nothing you need to worry about. I got it.” After we left the small storage facility where Vin had Sienna, I messaged the cleanup crew to make the rounds, and if luck was on our side and no one had phoned the cops, to do what they are paid to do. I haven’t received a response, which leads me to believe they’re doing said job now.

As for Kennedy, I can’t tell my dad what I have planned for her. He wouldn’t allow it. Violence against women is a hard limit for him. He won’t do it and he’ll prevent anyone else from handling the situation if I clue him in, so for that reason, he has to remain in the dark until it’s done. I’ll deal with his consequences after the fact, and make no mistake, there will be punishment for my crime.

Sighing, he nods. “Okay, then. G and I will handle this while you and Krishna handle the other problem.”

“No.” I shake my head. “We’re here. We’ll help. My problem can wait.”

“Actually, this works out better. We’ll get out on the alley side and you’ll take Giovanni’s vehicle so that it’s out of sight. I’ll call you when we’re ready to be picked up.”

“My shit might take a couple of hours.”

“My shit is going to take a couple of hours too, son.”

Something in his tone makes me want to press further, but splitting up works too. It’s not like Rafe will be more than two men can handle. The old man isn’t fast enough, and he isn’t in near the shape my father is in, and just from what I’ve seen of the way Giovanni carries himself, it doesn’t look like he’s lacking in the fit-and-healthy category either.

“Fine,” I concede. The sooner I strangle that bitch, the better it’ll be for everyone I care about.
