“I want to,” she said.

“I’m not going to stop you,” he whispered in a raspy voice.

She kissed her way down his torso until her hands and mouth found his manhood.

He gripped the sheets. No woman had ever touched him the way she did, and it wasn’t about the execution but connection.

She glanced up at him as she brought her lips over the tip, easing down on the shaft, slowly but firmly.

His fingers dug into her scalp, massaging wildly. He hoped it wasn’t too aggressive, and he tried like hell not to press her head down on him. The last thing he wanted was to force anything on her, and he wanted this to be about what she wanted. But, damn, he enjoyed this more than any other time in his life.

If he could make this last forever, he would. This was exactly the way men and women were supposed to be together.

Fear gripped his heart like a magnet hitting metal.

He’d fallen in love with Bryn. Totally and completely. Without reservation, he loved her.

“Babe, I need you to stop,” Jamison said. He rolled her onto her back and took her mouth in a hot, hard kiss. It was the kind that claimed a woman. It was wild and animalistic. His tongue swirled around in her mouth like a beast in search of its meal.

He nestled himself between her legs, entering her in a long, slow stroke.

She gripped his shoulders, digging her nails into his back. She moved her body with his, grinding her hips against his, begging him to bring her the kind of pleasure only he could give.

He hoped he didn’t disappoint because he could no longer contain himself.

Her climax came fast and hard.

His followed seconds later.

They lay together, panting, desperate to catch their breaths, holding each other and practically laughing at their inability to make it last longer than a couple of horny teenagers. But he didn’t care, and neither did she, it seemed.

He was so thoroughly satisfied.

“Oh, shit,” she said, her body stiffening. “I can’t believe I totally forgot.”

“What’s the matter?” He cupped her face and gazed into her eyes. “Are you okay? Are you hurt or something?”

“No. It’s not that, but we forgot something very important.”

“What’s that?”

“I never went back on birth control, and while breastfeeding might make it harder for me to get pregnant, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”

He waited for a second for the panic to set in, but it didn’t.

Adding a second child to the mix wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Suddenly, his entire world made sense.

She glanced up at him with wide eyes.

“It’s okay,” he kissed her forehead. “If you’re pregnant, we’ll deal with it.”

“How can you be so calm about this?”

“Because as crazy as this sounds, I love you and Zadie.”
