Jamison nodded.

“Thank you for hearing me out. I hope you understand me better now.”

“I do, but please don’t take this the wrong way… One conversation isn’t going to solve our problems.”

“I know. But it’s a start.”

“Agreed,” Jamison said. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to go find Bryn and find ways to avoid my ex-wife.”

Steve chuckled. “You’re really good at avoiding people.”

Jamison nodded. He made a beeline for the pool area, but at the last minute, decided to go straight for the beach. He needed a few moments to collect his thoughts before mingling with half of Lighthouse Cove. He figured everyone at the party was wondering how he and his newdaddywere getting along.

Before he started fielding questions, he wanted to get his answers straight in his head.
