He skims a finger along my shoulder. “I think I would.”

“You’ll have to catch me first,” I say and rush off toward the bedroom.

The dogs bark and give chase, as does Mav. I nearly make it to my bathroom when an arm wraps around my middle. “Gotcha!”

He lifts me up and throws me on the bed like I weigh nothing. I mean, I’m skinny, but his strength in throwing me is sexy as all get out.

I bounce on the mattress and the dogs bark before springing onto the bed after me. I shove them off, but they merely jump back on again as if we’re playing a game.

“This is ridiculous,” Mav complains before grabbing Bark Twain and carrying him out of the bedroom. He shuts the door on him before returning for Indiana Bones. Indiana Bones isn’t about to be pushed around, though. He runs around the bedroom and Mav chases after him until I finally have pity on him.

“Indiana Bones,” I yell. My baby immediately halts and stares up at me with those puppy dog eyes. I wag a finger at him. “Don’t give me the look. You know you’re not allowed in the bedroom when I have a male visitor.”

He drops his head and his tail curls under his body as he trots to the door. Mav opens it and Bark Twain immediately sticks his snout in the room. Mav wrestles with the dogs but eventually manages to force them out into the hallway and shut the door on them.

“At least, Meowise didn’t try to join the fun. She’s a scrapper. I’d hate to have to treat your wounds.”

Mav ignores my comment as he climbs onto the bed and covers me with his body. “Now, where were we?”

His lips slam down on mine before I have a chance to answer. Who needs to answer? The answer is my tongue searching his out. Our tongues barely have a chance to touch before the doorbell rings. Mav wrenches his lips from mine with a scowl.

“I’m going to kill whoever’s at the door,” I grumble.

“Unfortunately, you can’t. It’s our food.”

“Food? There aren’t any delivery services in Winter Falls.” Delivery services are bad for the environment. Don’t ask. Just accept the statement, unless you want to hear an hour-long lecture complete with PowerPoint presentation.

“I asked Moon to bring us some hamburgers from the brewery.”

I shove him off of me. “Go. Hamburgers from the brewery need to be eaten warm.”

“This will be continued later.”

“Of course. Of course. Food now. Sexy times later.”

As I watch him saunter out of the room, I debate whether I made the right choice in picking food first but when the smell of hamburgers and fries hits me, I know I definitely made the right choice. Besides, Mav isn’t going anywhere. He’s in Winter Falls to stay.
