“That’s the same line she fed me,” Hudson adds.

“It’s not a line, guys. We’re not a thing. Your sister is way above my pay grade.” I may be hoping to change that, but I don’t need to let them know.

Not yet.

Becks puts his crystal tumbler down, and Hudson leans in as if readying to hear what wisdom his brother is about to impart. “You realize you’re worthy, right, Saint? Like seriously, I was pissed at first, but if any man was ever going to be the man to challenge Scarlet Kingston and come out a winner on the other side, it would be you.”

Hudson shakes his head and blinks his eyes a few times. “What Becket is trying to say but may be mixing too many movie references to be clear about, is we love our sisters. We were raised to put them on pedestals no one else could reach. But you’re a good guy and a great dad, Saint. And Scarlet could use someone to get her to remember that there’s more to life than work.”

Pretty sure these two just gave me their blessing to date their sister, but I could be wrong.

“So, let me get this straight. You both were pissed as hell when you found out that Scarlet and I had hooked up, but now you what... give us your blessing?” I laugh. “Not so sure she’d appreciate that.” My eyes search the room but don’t find Scarlet anywhere.

Lenny, however, drops down on the other side of Becket. “Sounds like you know my sister pretty well, Cade. Better than these two, at least. And you’re right. She’d hate knowing anyone had given any type of permission. But at least you know that.” Len flashes a beautiful smile my way, then shoves Becks off the couch. “So... it’s time to figure out what you need to do to get the girl.”
